I think what you pay for
8 qts. is pretty big and takes up a lot of space in your cabinet. It's also heavy and a bit tricky to wash up in the sink because of its size and weight. But, it came well packaged, and in perfect condition. The large size is perfect for making large batches of chili, soups. roasts and veggies. and a whole chicken fits with ease. Stove top or oven compatible. Top level quality. Easy to get clean and looks brand new afterwords. Heirloom cookware.

Can’t go wrong with the original!
Le Creuset was my first ceramic/cast iron pot. I treasured it. I cooked everything from Coq au Vin, to artisan bread, to Spanish style rice in it. Somehow in a move it got lost or stolen. Well, these are super expensive. Years later, I asked my mom and husband if they’d be willing to chip in to buy this oval pot so I could make a Thanksgiving turkey in it. This is much larger than my original pot, and all Le Creuset (like similar cast iron/ceramic pots) is HEAVY. With a 12 lb turkey, it was all I could do to get it into the oven, but wow, what a turkey; best one I ever made (using Gordon Ramsey’s recipe of course ;). The round small one I have is the best for bread, rice, stews for four people. This one is for a crowd, no matter what you’re making in it. I’ve used the cheaper versions - they just don’t hold up as well; they’ve chipped easily or the lids don’t fit correctly for a nice tight close. So this is an investment, but a good one.

Perfect
I love it. It is fabulous to cook with, keeps even heat. Fantastic to clean. Only downside is that it is very heavy, but so pretty that it lives on the stove.

Amazing Dutch oven that will outlive me!
The Flame (ombré red to orange) finish is absolutely stunning and looks professional on any stovetop. But beyond the aesthetics, the Signature line features several functional upgrades that make a difference in a busy kitchen. • Ergonomic Handles: The oversized loop handles are a lifesaver when I'm moving the heavy pot from the oven to the counter while wearing bulky mitts. • Durable Enamel: The exterior finish is chip-resistant, and I haven't noticed any staining or dulling after multiple uses. • Versatile Lid: The lid fits perfectly, trapping moisture and heat for "painless" slow cooking. There are no noticeable quality issues here—just pure, high-end craftsmanship. This is a piece of equipment that will clearly last for decades.

Very good quality
Top notch cooking equipment. Waited for years to buy one. It's expensive. This 9.5 quart dutch oven is huge. You better have a good size family, love left overs, or love to entertain. But it's beautiful & works like a champ. Mark Garrett

"The Crucible" (Le Creuset) is such a ridiculous name for such a great brand.
Fantastic. Look, Le Creuset is expensive as all get-out. You buy this instead of the knock-off if you want to keep it for 20 years. If you're wondering whether (virtually) non-stick cast iron will make you a better cook: uh huh. Aside from all the hipster hype, cast-iron does one thing vastly better than the other materials you're probably using on your stovetop: heat retention. For example, even high-quality non-cast-iron skillets will cool substantially when you drop a 40-degree, 1.5" thick ribeye onto their surface; this means that you end up boiling the moisture off of your steak before the searing begins. Additionally, heat retention means more -even- heat in most cases. Cast iron gives much more predictable results, and you'll notice it immediately. Being able to use (washable!) cast-iron was a game changer for me. All this being said, I can't say that you need Le Creuset (instead of the knock-off) for these features -- as I said above, you pay for the expected longevity. But I can def say that, despite the substantial cost, I smile every time I grab this thing from the shelf.

Very durable. Non-toxic
Best I've ever owned. Cooks food very well And has an even heat distribution. Definitely heavy duty material. I especially like the oval shape for cooking fish. It weighs more than most pots I've used, but definitely a lot more durable and less toxic. I will be buying more of their products.

Bella e buona ! Ottimo acquisto!
Semplicemente fantastica! Bellissima e meravigliosa alleata in cucina.

The quality you would expect
These pans are very expensive. There are cheaper alternatives. There’s a reason for that.
