Bought this without really looking, based on reviews, as my old one broke.It does work. usually takes a few clicks.. why only three stars? because.. it is SO long that it won't fit in a cutlery drawer. the picture with measurements is accurate: the photo showing a hob being lit makes it look a lot shorter than it is in reality (in that picture, the unit laying next to the hob is more representative). its LONG. Really. Excessively. I should've looked for a direct replacement for old one.still, maybe one day i'll need to ignite a lunar module or similar..

Item hopeless for intended use. Trigger stiff & too short,had to be operated several times before spark finally lit gas oven,if! ,it did.This delay could lead to a dangerous build up of gas.

It looks great in my first impression however it is difficult to fire, I bought for my in-law and she can't use it as you need lot of strength to trigger, may he good for man but certainly not for people who has small hands unfortunately.

Update: there is a trick to using this. If you miss the initial ignition, then the hob burner can be lit by pushing the tip of the lighter up under the hob plate. After the first surge of gas, you have to get very close to the exit holes.Previous: Your timing has to be perfect to use this: spark too soon after turning on the gas to the hob and nothing happens, spark too late and you just get a gas smell and no flame. Some days I get it the first try, but on others I end up using a match. If you're really good with your reflexes, this is a nice piece of kit, otherwise you'll need to use something that produces a flame.

This works as expected and is a solidly built lighter. Please note that this is NOT gas powered so don't expect a flame from the end just a spark.

Much longer and bigger than expected, impractical for kitchen use but would be fine for gas BBQ
