Great extraction set.
I stripped an 8mm Allen differential fill bolt on my 2017 Subaru. These Allen bolts seem like the metal is very soft and cannot take a lot of torque. This extraction set exceeded my expectations. I hammered the 8mm bit in, and it broke loose with ease. All I used is the tools in the pictures. After it arrived I had the bolt out in 5 minutes. A great product for any toolbox. Especially for the do it yourselfer. Worked great.

Worked surprisingly well and saved a ton of money.
I was really stressed when I stripped the 8mm overfill differential plug changing the diff oil on my Subaru Forester. Every Subaru dealership wanted about $160 to remove it. The 8mm standard allen had barely bit into the plug, and subsequent uses could only get it in 3 mm deep into the socket and it would just spin. Out of desperation, I tried this, because why not, and I'm very impressed by it. It took a couple initial tries to get the sockets to bite, but a couple good taps with a hammer and it bit down hard. So much so that the socket can out attached to the plug after it broke loose and I had to tap the bolt and socket with a hammer to get it apart. When I did get it apart, the socket still looked new, no damage at all. So this thing saved me at least $100+ and a lot of headache. And it's still ready for more. It's worth a try for anyone with a stuck bolt, but just make sure you give it a couple good tapes to let the socket bite into the medal and extract. Will definitely be keeping this in my toolkit for years to come!

Tap them into place to seat them all the way!
These worked like a charm! Here's the experience... I installed a crankshaft pulley on a vehicle with the supplied hardware and used blue loctite. Standard procedure. Then I found out the pulley is too small and I need a different size. I went to remove the button head allen bolts and each one just strips no matter what I do. I used heat to loosen up the loctite. Still they just strip. My allen socket is in good shape. The bolts seem super soft and shallow so they just strip. There's not much one can do to access crankshaft bolts that are recessed without removing everything in front of the engine. After some research I found these. Mostly positive reviews and some negative. I figured I'd try them and take the advice of others to tap this into place before turning them. It was tight quarters but I could get a bunch of small taps in to make sure these extractors seated properly. And the tapping to seat them was noticeable. I could see them dig in. If one didn't properly seat them I could see them not working and just stripped the bolts even more. So these pulled out all 6 shallow button head allen bolts that have been loctited in place without any issue whatsoever. They worked perfectly. Keep them seated with pressure and slowly turn. They bit so hard I had to use pliers to remove the bolts from the extractors. 100% success and not one slip of the socket. I removed one star because the one fitting I needed was rusty on arrival. I've owned some tools for 20 years and none of them are rusty. I worry the rusty one might not last as long as the others that are clean. Some of that rust goes down to the tip that fits into the allen head bolts. In conclusion, hope you don't get rusty tools and if you tap them in real good and keep pressure on the socket as you turn they will likely come right out. The socket extractors work great in situations where you can't use standard methods of bolt removal due to cramped or recessed locations.

Get these right now.
If you're working on anything that's old. Get them now. They've been a lifesaver on an old bike I'm working on. You'll get a good break if you seat them well then smack the ratchet or whatever.

Stripped the bolt even more
I recently purchased the Powerbuilt 240094 8 Piece Zeon Metric Hex Bit Socket Set with high hopes of tackling some DIY projects around the house, specifically to remove a stubborn bolt on my elliptical machine. However, my experience with this set has left me sorely disappointed.First and foremost, the quality of the sockets in this set is subpar. Despite being advertised as suitable for use on damaged fasteners, I found that the hex bit sockets lacked the durability and strength needed to effectively grip and remove stubborn bolts. Instead of loosening the bolt, the socket merely slipped and stripped the bolt even further, making it virtually impossible to remove without causing further damage.Furthermore, the design of the sockets leaves much to be desired. The hex bits are prone to rounding and wear after minimal use, rendering them ineffective for future projects. Additionally, the lack of a secure grip mechanism within the sockets makes it difficult to maintain proper contact with the fastener, resulting in slippage and potential injury during use.The overall construction of the Powerbuilt 240094 Zeon Metric Hex Bit Socket Set feels cheap and flimsy, with little regard for durability or longevity. The sockets lack the robustness needed to withstand the rigors of everyday use, making them ill-suited for tackling tough jobs or working with damaged fasteners. In summary, I cannot in good conscience recommend the Powerbuilt 240094 8 Piece Zeon Metric Hex Bit Socket Set for use on damaged fasteners or any other DIY projects. Its lackluster performance, poor construction, and inability to effectively grip and remove stubborn bolts make it a frustrating and ultimately disappointing investment. Save yourself the time and frustration by exploring alternative socket sets that prioritize quality and reliability over flashy marketing claims.

It works! Saved the day!
Had socket head cap screws holding intake manifold on. Extremely tight and stripped out. This tool got them off. It would have been impossible to remove without this. Choose the correct size, pound it on and it does the trick. Saved the day!

They work!
I was having a hard time extracting some allen key bolts. After soaking with penetrating oil and using one of these bits on an impact driver the bolts came out very nicely.

Great help out of a bad spot
Worked better than expectedHave to be firm with tapping into allen key holeTried and had to hammer it in twice but then plug came outMake sure when tapping into place it is square to the plug or bolt

Might be ok for light duty
These might work ok for lightweight fasteners — for example on Ikea or other furniture. They do not have enough grip to work on stronger bolts, a traditional extractor or drilling out the bolt is a better bet
