Why did you pick this product vs others?:Kohler brand. Quality. They’re the only brand that offers a whole family of matching fixtures, toilet paper holder, towel racks, towel rings, etc. this is a replacement of one lost during Helene flooding. The old one was over 10 years old, yet looked new. They provide templates to facilitate installation.

It's hard to find decently made anything anymore, and I didn't have the time to read 8000 reviews, so I just went with the Kohler branded option. The nice things about this:1) Actual metal used, including for the little spring bar that the roll sits on (although admittedly the spring bar itself is very light gauge)2) Thoughtful use of wide bases to hide any damage done by the screws that hold this to the wall (in my case, I used better wall mounting hardware behind it, and the result is that the plaster and paint "curdled" a bit, but this was easily hidden behind the extra wide decorative bases)3) Relatively intelligent modular design (not that this matters to the buyer) - but since I have several items from this collection, I can see how the manufacturing works and how they combine various basic pieces to make these things, and there is some nice design in there4) Intelligent base cover tighteners - designed to go on in only one way, and tightening in such a way that they easily go flush to the wall.Again, none of this is rocket science, and these are over-priced (you're paying for the Kohler brand and the knowledge that you won't throw it away in disgust when you receive it).Note: The little plastic wall anchors that are included are fine if you never plan to use the thing, but otherwise you should use something more like this: http://smile.amazon.com/Drilling-Drywall-Anchors-Phillip-Screws/dp/B00NP5TT6S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456326348&sr=8-1&keywords=E-Z+Ancor+Stud

The template is about an inch and a half wider than typical piper rolls. Great quality still

This Kolar Toilet tissue holder matches all the other products in our Bathroom off of our Kitchen! I am very pleased with it!!!!!

This is a spring loaded toilet paper holder not a pivot holder as advertised.

We'd gotten SO frustrated with jumbo toilet paper rolls that would not work with the design of our old holders. When a new roll was put on, we'd have to unroll the first part of each new roll onto the empty cardboard from the preceding roll. Otherwise, we'd end up getting one sheet at a time because the new roll was too tight and the sheets would tear at the perforation.We bought two of the Kohler toilet paper holders YESTERDAY and they were delivered free TODAY. Within an hour, they were perfectly installed by my husband. The instructions were great, the template was included - no problems.

I'm glad this was available being it is now discontinued by Kohler. This is a real Kohler product. And is way cheaper than when I bought this very same one years ago. The wife removed it from the wall and parts were lost. That was why I purchased from Amazon.
