Is there a blade guard for this item?

get you some 5/8" heater hose and slick a center line cut down the center slide over the blade. works great. Use a razor knife for the cut down the length of heater hose. hope this helps. buletpoint

where is it manufactured? Seymour is in Indiana, is this blade American made? (blades say 'Austria')

Bought mine on Amazon got it days later americam made or from Indiana I can't remember bit I still recommend it

Is this a right hand blade?

As you hold the handle you swing from right to left I recommend using a blade sharpener as well blade is sharp from factory but sharpener is recommended mine cuts tall grass 1/4 -3/8 TREE tree saplings like butter I recommend this blade
