I bought this system to replace an aging QSee system but encountered what I consider to be a major flaw with a security system.Pros:-The system was pretty easy to install and set up-Image quality is pretty good-Night vision is also excellentCons-NVR can only output at 1080p, which is low considering that it supports 4k cameras-And the major issue, the NVR cannot send snapshots via email nor the Annke app, even though it explicitly said in the product description above that it can. I contacted Annke support who responded promptly and informed me that this model NVR, N48PBB, cannot send snapshots at all, only live view and playback remotely. They recommended an upgraded model, N48PAW, that has those features and suggested that I return the system and purchase the upgraded one. However, due to my location outside of the US, it is extremely cost prohibitive to return. It truly baffles me that a security company will remove a feature that will send snapshots when an alert is detected. So what exactly do they expect to happen if an intruder breaks in and steals the NVR as well, and you're not available at this specific point in time to open the app and record what information you can?Final thoughts:The camera system was easy to set up, day and night images are clear and is easy to configure. However, NVR cannot send snapshots at all which should be a deal breaker to anyone as you're not going to be available 24/7 to respond to alerts and capture the relevant info via the app.UPDATE (13/05/2021):As stated above, I had originally contacted Annke support about the issue. Their support team was very helpful and forwarded my suggested improvements to their engineering team who in turn, released an updated version of the NVR that includes email support. Support is sending me the updated version to replace the one I have free of charge, and has updated the Amazon listing with the new model and with accurate descriptions.As such, I'm changing the rating to 5 stars due to stellar support.

So I have this unit mounted behind the windows, and they are not bad. Especially during the day. At night, it's still clear to see outside, with minor glare from the windows and lights outside, but they work lovely. 5mp cameras are clear and nice, so I'm looking to get the 8mp cameras next, which the unit is said to support which can be added on. The sensor recording is great for reviewing, because you can go directly to the motion detection areas instead the entire recordings. Which becomes a lot.

Overall good system, good cameras. BUT beware of notifications, if you are planning to rely on motion detection. This system's motion detection sensitivity setting is only 1 - 5. Even with the lowest setting and narrowed detection zone, I'm still getting hundreds of notifications per camera every night. Between hundreds of notifications, almost impossible to find what I really need. TOTALLY USELESS. Annke tech support suggested me to upgrade system to get better feature (I think some person detection..etc). My purchase was already passed return window and I'm not planning to upgrade it yet. I WILL NOT BUY ANNKE ANY MORE.

Pros:1. Quality video and pictures day or night2. Affordable price3. Good Cables are supplied and long enough for the entire house.4. Cameras are well designed and stylish5. Very easy to install the system6. Love the large hard drive and smart playback7. The best is your level of support. You replied emails promptly and willing to send a new camera to replace the bad one.Cons:1. One out of three cameras didn’t work. It took me time to figure it out since I was new to the product.2. Setting up and configuration are a little bit confusing at the beginning. I had to search online and YouTube for help.

Big install with running wires in the attic but kit comes with plenty of wire for our 2000 sqft home. Cameras views are beautiful. Ethernet cord was too short for our network hookup. Mouse cord is too short. Would prefer a wireless mouse to operate the menus on the NVR. Just got online and mobile access today. That was pretty involved. Now the recording process still needs to be configured. Overall, happy with the system.

The Annke camera system is good, but definitively requires assistance from technical support and a lot of patience, since the support department is overseas and scheduling a support session may happen late afternoon or overnight. Thanks to Nicole and Jisoo, from the tech support team, the system is now up and running.Just wishing the system is smart enough to be a real plug and play equipment and less tech support dependent.From a previous 8 camera Annke system purchase and this model experiences, both required to contact tech support for a live teamviewer session to reset each camera using XML files, which only the manufacturer can provide.Besides the technical difficulties to set up the system, tech support and image quality are the best compared to any other brand systems ever used from personal experiences.

I hung the camera in the right place, stretched the cable, connected it and it all works. The settings are automatic to the middle level, if you need to change something, please. I'm not an expert. but figured it out quickly. Cameras with a wide viewing angle, at a distance of 10-15 meters, are ideal. A 2 TB disk is enough for a long time, the H-256 + system is installed. Remote access to the phone is very simple, I removed the code on the phone and that's it, but you need a good Internet connection. Service at the highest level, I live in Estonia, Eastern Europe, agreed on time and remotely set up one camera from China - super. The price of this device is very reasonable.e sehr gute Sache, um ein Privathaus zu bewachen. Budget und einfache Option.

I did quite a bit of research prior to purchasing this system and also contacted Annke support and they were very helpful and replied promptly which is great. I've only had the system a couple of days and have been doing some testing and getting familiar with the system prior to the final install. So far everything has worked great and then quality of live camera vision, recordings, zooming recording via the NVR has all been first rate. The supplied cables are ample in length to reach all my camera locations. There are several other features that I also really like on this system such as ONVIF compatibility, the compression of recording via the NVR, the software that runs on Windows looks great too as too does the mobile app. This is my first security camera system and I choose the 8 channel so I can add additional cameras over time and so far it's all gone quite smoothly and I would recommend this product.

I’ve only had the system setup for a few days but so far so good!The 5mp cameras have an amazing quality picture transmitted to the NVR unit.I’m not a professional installer, but it was super simple to install and setup.It’s probably not running to its full possibilities but I’m still very impressed overall.So all in all for a home or small business DIY unit I’d highly recommend it.The POE Ethernet cables make the install a breeze and are certainly long enough to reach all my required camera locations.The playback and live viewing features are amazing to watch in full HD with very minimal delay.The only negative I could say is the cameras don’t have an inbuilt microphone which would be handy. But that will be a future upgrade.The NVR has the capability to upgrade to 4K cameras which will be an awesome upgrade along with the inbuilt mic which I think will make this an awesome setup.

The product boasts HD quality but the cameras do not produce that quality.
