Luxurious!
These washcloths are fantastic!! They are thick, soft and super absorbent. They feel good in your hand and are oversized. The price I paid was well worth the number of clothes in the package. The color saturation is a beautiful deep gray that has not faded out upon washing. If there was one thing… I wish the manufacture tag was not so big and in an opposite color. If the tag were dark gray like the washcloth, I wouldn’t even notice it. I could cut it off and noone would be the wiser. Because it is a light cream color, it’s noticeable and if I cut it off, the left over threads will stick out like a sore thumb. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. This product is a win!

Nice, thirsty towels
I purchased this set to use as extra hair towels for my bathroom, since I already purchased another brand of white towel with a set of hand towels, bath and washcloths and needed an extra towel; buying four was a bonus. I like using a separate towel just for my hair, and this one is great. It is a long thread/nap, and not a short nap like many other towels, so it looks as thirsty as it is. I also love the size, since they are long enough to wrap around my head, unlike others I have purchased that were so short that I had to put them to use as powder room hand towels. This towel is very absorbent and thick, unlike any other towel I have purchased in the past. I wish I had ordered only these towels in all the sizes, but I already bought another brand of 850 gm Turkish towels, unlike these 900 gram Egyptian towels . I actually like these much better. They are washing well and holding up great after each wash. I don't use fabric softener. That would decrease the absorbency, and these are nice and soft after coming out of the dryer.4/12/13 I am adding this after washing the towels several more times. They did not shrink for me. I bought them in white. I wash them in warm water in a one year old Speed Queen top loader washer that is not the low water consumption kind (such as newer LG, etc. that use minimal water and have glass lid) I wash them on the knits setting (not gentle) which on this washer means a slower wash spin cyle with a fast spin dry. That is my personal preference. I also dry them on low heat for the longest time/most dry setting. I dry everything I own on low heat.I know from the repairman (my dryer made noise, not washer problem) that many of the new washers spin so rapidly that clothes actually come out in knots. He has seen many of these complaints, though not with my type which is more of the old-fashioned design but with stainless, etc. (I am not a spokesperson for this washer but owned a Maytag for a very long time prior to this one.) They (the newer less water designs in top loaders, etc.) can be very rough on clothing, etc. I am not saying others' complaints may be related to their particular brand of washer, but in my case I have had no shrinkage problems and no fraying issues, etc. I just wanted to clarify my particular care of these towels in relation to my review. They are thick, absorbent towels. They don't have any velvety look to them or anything. They look like a very thick terry cloth and they are very nice so far.

Going on 10+ years...
We bought these 10 years ago [looked at purchase history] and one finally fell apart at the seams. I am not sure how that actually happened, but I had to write a review to tell people how great these towels are. I can only compare these to "hotel luxury towels" as these are nice and feel like a "heavy" towel and not the thinner ones you may get at the local stores. At a great price, lasting 10 years is a steal.

Very thick, absorbent, but NOT soft, lots of lint after multiple washings, and strings/flaws immediately starting
I'm going to compare these towels to the top 3 kinds of towels I have experience. 1) Simply Vera Vera Wang Signature Bath Towel, 2) Premier Ultra Plush towels from walmart.com (not available in stores), and 3)the generic cheap towels my parents had growing up. Firstly, the Vera Wang towels are the ultimate- incredibly soft, well made, thick, ultra-absorbent, high quality, and long durability. I've had mine for over 5 years with no fade, pilling, or strings. They are beautiful. Unfortunately, they don't come in black or even a dark charcoal anymore. There was some initial lint for the first 1-2 washings but nothing much thereafter. For the Premier walmart.com black towels, they were indeed soft, not as thick or well made as the Veras, made low amount of constant lint, and after 5 years they are faded but more importantly misshaped and ruched/permanently crimped/narrowed at the decorative strip. They also shrink noticeably. So they have to go. My parents towels were small, rough, absorbent, and not thick. These are very thick, nice and absorbent, but not soft. Kind of a harsh feel even after 3 washings and fabric softener. Lint was excessive even after 3 washings. Its showing less in the dryer but I still can't use them to dry my face or I get tiny strings stuck in my eyes and coating my skin. The color is OK but after the first wash before use there were major strings/failure points.Time will tell if they hold up but each was leads to more (over a foot long) strings to cut so I doubt it. My biggest peeve is how not soft they are.9/2018: after have these for many months now I am not using them anymore. After many many washes the lint is still out of control to the point where I cannot dry my face with them I get lint painfully stuck in my eyes and contacts if I do. Color has faded noticeably despite gentle cycle and using Woolite Dark. Very disappointed.
