good green tea - tasty
Not the fanciest and contains a few stems. However, it is tasty, good for three brewings, and expands nicely with quick preparation. Better than most decent loose-leaf teas and less expensive that gourmet blends without giving up too much in flavor or intensity.Package holds up well and has a nice smoky flavor and aroma.

One of the BEST Dragonwell Green Teas I've Tried
I love tea. I've tried a lot of teas, everything from bad tea to fine tea, and I also like variety often switching between black, green, oolong, and puh-erh. And for all the green teas I've tried Dragonwell is a relatively new addition to my collection and so I've ordered a number of different brands to identify which is best. There are several brands sold on Amazon that are good, like Davidson's and Solstice Tea Traders, but I would argue this one is the best I've tried yet.The first time I tried Dragonwell tea, it was in a tea sampler, and I had no idea what awaited me. It has a mild sweetness with a smooth, toasty flavor with nutty undertones. It's a clean, balanced, and satisfying green tea.Unlike other green teas, the leaves are rolled flat and they don't seem to swell up when steeped. I heap my infuser basket full of leaves, to the top, and re-steep it all day long. It's somewhat forgiving, but will begin to bitter if steeped too long and weak if not steeped long enough. I find steeping until it develops a slight cloudiness makes for the ideal cup. If you like a good gunpowder green, you'll probably find this an enjoyable variety.

Great Cuppa!
This is GREAT tea! I love GenMai Cha (which is fine green tea with puffed toasted rice to add a nutty, smoky flavor to the green tea) and this brand and tea is perfection. The taste is wonderful and the price was fantastic. I'll be buying a lot more of this in the future. If you like tea, and you like Gen Mai Cha, in particular, this is your brand!

High quality tea for great price
High quality, great tasting green tea. Be careful to not use too much as the pinhead shape expands quite a bit when seeping in water.

Headache Pinhead Gunpowder
IDK what it is with this green tea. I tried it multiple times out of stubbornness thinking maybe I was somehow making it wrong. Even got exact with the prep using a timer and temp probe following the instructions exactly. Then I tried underbrewing it with a -15F temp & steeping just 2 minutes. It was better when weaker, but only because there was just less of the tea tannins in the cup. Still quite rough compared to a very typical Sencha.Every brew tasted very bitter, slightly smoky, the color came out brownish orange (presumably because it's a fired-tea) despite the tea itself looking pale greenHeadaches for about an hour after drinking a full cup. It reminded me of the times I drank extremely hoppy beers & got a headache. It doesn't taste like hops, but IDK, it's just not good. Not enjoyable on any level. I tried it 4 times & could not make it pleasant. No idea if this is how it's supposed to be or not, but whatever I got was pretty awful & I just threw out $15 of tea. Wish I'd thrown it out after the second confirmation brew instead of suffering through two more.I guess it's back to the expensive Japanese brands for green tea, have not been able to find a Chinese green that is even vaguely in the same realm... and I've tried. Figured there must be a Chinese organic that's at least 70% as good as the $20-40/100g Japanese greens I'm used to, but for less money. $16 for 450g tempted me but I guess I've learned my lesson.Back to Gyokuro & Sencha.

Good taste
good taste and a fair value for the money. Green tea seems to have gotten pretty expensive. This was the best one on the internet that I could find for the money. 1 level teaspoon is all it takes to make a strong cup of tea.

I am glad that I read the reviews for "Organic Pinhead Gunpowder ...
I should start off this review by stating that I am not a green tea connoisseur, and rarely drink the product until recently. However, I am glad that I read the reviews for "Organic Pinhead Gunpowder Green Tea, Loose Leaf Bag, Positively Tea" because they were, for the most part, correct in their assessment. Those who said this is a gunpowder green tea were correct, as it has tightly curled leaves, unlike other products that are more like bits and pieces of broken leaves; what I would describe as "leaf shake".In order to compare and contrast for myself, I also ordered "Davidson's Tea Bulk Gunpowder Green tea". That tea is approximately 30% less expensive per weight as it sells for $9.99 in comparison to this tea for $14.95. The difference in taste for this tea is phenomenal and worth the higher price! Davidson's Green tea was bitter and weak, a very watery taste to go along with a not so pleasant green tea flavor. The Positively Tea Pinhead Green Tea was true Gunpowder Green Tea as the leaves were tightly rolled, as seen in the photo I attached to my review; LEFT is Positively Tea, RIGHT is Davidson's Tea, just like the other reviewers photos. The Positively Tea also had a nice smooth slightly sweet taste to it and was some of the best green tea that I have had. Much less watery than the other tea and seemed to carry a slightly higher viscosity too. The difference was night and day.For bulk green tea at a low price point Davidson's will do the trick, but it will not be highly enjoyable. Go with another product to get a better tea. I don't know if I will drink a full 1 lb of it after I ordered it. But this tea is worth a daily cup!
