AWFUL
I am accustomed to using 18-hr and 24-hr lipsticks, and thought this would similarly make my regular lipsticks last that long. WRONG. This sealer is nothing like that. I followed the directions to the letter, but did not have good results. I applied 3 coats, as they suggest 2-4 coats. I also followed their tip to apply along the lipline to prevent feathering. The paper says it will tingle when applied. Tingle? It STINGS like fire when I put it on! The kind of sting that normally tells me "get it off quick"! Each layer stung more intensely. I hung in there anyway and let it dry. My lips looked dull, matte, not shiny. After an hour or so I noticed the edges of lips were no longer a smooth neat line, instead the lipstick seemed to be feathering onto my skin and looked like I didn't know how to put on lipstick. I didn't take it off yet. I'm at home for the day, so what the heck, lets see how long it lasts. My lips feel dry; I want chapstick SO bad. For dryness, the paper suggests my lips need to be healthier and advises to "condition your lips at night with a high quality, non-greasy moisturizing creme". Finally, when I had a drink, a "flake" was left behind on the glass. Further inspection found that my lips look horrible. They appear dry and cracked and sort-of flaky. It did not take much to wipe most of it all off and declare this a big waste of time and money. And for the record, I tried another brand of sealer and got similar results. So for long lasting lipstick I will continue using the 18/24 hr lipsticks. I have tried revlon colorstay, loreal infallable, and covergirl outlast. They are all similar to me and have great results. ------------- I LOVE amazon and their customer reviews! It helps me a lot on deciding what to purchase. So I hope my LONG post helps someone too. :)

Best stuff there is!!
I have been using this for over 20 years (back in the 80's!!!) and still havent found anything that can match it. I always get comments on how my lipstick can stay on for so long, through eating etc. Literally all day!! You need to blot your lipstick before applying and I only put one coat on both bottom and top lip. If your not used to it, it may tingle a little when you first put it on. Leave to dry, just remember not to rub your lips together as it will rub off. I do find licking your lips gently before eating or drinking also helps if your lips have become dry (stops them from sticking). One of the best things too is because you have this as a coating over your lips its stops my lips drying out and seems to preserve them!!

For more than just lipstick
I seriously could not do without this product. Due to an autoimmune issue I gradually lost my eyebrows. Now I pencil in my eyebrows everyday. Unfortunately, until I found Lipcote, I was reluctant to go swimming or to the gym because the water from the pool or from sweating would cause my "eyebrows" to come off. Now I coat my eyebrows with Lipcote, pencil in the hair, and cover again with Lipcote. I can go swimming, workout, all without worry! My eyebrows stay on for several days without having to redo them. Such a great product! If you use it for lipstick I would recommend the same procedure. Seal your lips with the Lipcote, let it dry, put on your lipstick on and coat again.
