Review: Worth the price with one small “touchy” exception... - Absolutely love the look of these metal levers and directional thumbpad (bought in dark gray finish). The slightly textured d-pad is an improvement over the original plastic design (in my opinion) and the added length on the L2 &R2 levers are exactly the right length to reach comfortably. I chose not to use the included action buttons (designed to look like the base of 9mm bullet casings with intact primers) because I used them on one of my Limited Edition The Last of Us pt II controllers (left the other one completely stock in case I want to use/feel the original version) and I like the single color look of the PS icons (all light gray to white on these controllers) and at times I honestly forget which symbols go on which buttons. The overall weight added by all of the aluminum pieces isn’t overwhelming in a way it makes the controller too heavy for extended gameplay, but just substantial enough to make a notable difference over stock. The slight weight difference adds a comfortable heft which the original controller lacks and, again in my own opinion, gives the controller a nice quality feel overall. My only issue with these is that the L2 & R2 levers have a slightly sharp outer edge to them. It isn’t too uncomfortable and I honestly forget about that edge while playing, but when I first reassembled the controller after installing everything, it was the first thing I noticed when getting a feel for the new buttons and levers. I was also afraid that the added weight of the aluminum would negatively affect the factory springs & rubber pads but they work just fine. There are extra springs and screws included in the kit but again, I did not use them. Overall, I feel this kit is of exceptional quality and is worth the price of admission. Of course, I would prefer it if I could have chosen the parts I wanted to modify (minus the right side individual icon-labelled buttons) and at a lower price (maybe $18-$20?). Part of the reason I chose not to modify both of my Ltd Edition controllers was because 1) I initially felt is was somewhat of a “sacrilege” to modify the Ltd. Ed. TLOU2 controller so to make myself feel better I left the other one alone and 2) $50.00 for both controllers seemed a bit pricey to me. I would definitely have given this kit 4.5 stars if given the option, with the 1/2 star deducted for the “sharp” edges of the L2 & R2 extended levers, but ultimately feel they deserve my 5 stars as the edges did not affect my comfort nor gameplay at all in the end. Everything feels more responsive and of course looks amazing! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid product, just a few install tips *by J***B on January 12, 2020* Pretty solid set up. The replace items are on point. I enjoy the slightly bigger triggers. Three items to note Bumper buttons: I have to slightly bend the retainer pins on one to keep it properly slotted.(Why I put 4 stars) Springs: replace the springs!!! Replace the ones in the controller with the new slightly longer ones. Trigger pad: this is more of a install fyi, the triggers are pressure senstive sensor pads. You need to make sure from when you remove the triggers that your pads behind them are seated back properly.
