Very oily out of the packaging
So I needed a new electrician's knife to replace one I had for over 20 years. Looking around for something that wasn't tacti-cool style. I finally leaned on Klein's version. Ordered it through Amazon because it was cheaper than most of my hardware stores in town and received it today. Immediately upon opening the packaging, which by the way in my version was a plastic box held together by staples, it was slick with oil. The one that I had used a bakelite plastic in black color for the handle, this one had a fake wooden plastic (I can't tell if it is a bakelite); but it was just slick with some lightweight machine oil. Got one of my shop rags out of the garage to wipe it down. Opening the blades to make sure it worked and both the blades were just covered in the machine oil. I know it is probably to help preserve the knife blades and keep them from rusting, but these were just about dripping and took a while of wiping and working to get all cleaned up. I am now leaving it out to air for a bit to get that oil smell out of the knife before it goes into pocket for use. I will also be washing my hands for a long while to get that smell and feel off my hands.

Oil covered, burned edge, and cheap feeling scales
While this blade is no doubt leagues better in quality that other alternatives on this shopping website, I wish there were a good compromise between this blade and quality and the gardeners scales and packaging. I ordered this knife to replace one I had while in the army and was stolen during a barracks inspection. That being said though, I prefer the scales on the gardener knife ad they felt better in quality and texture. I also dislike the appearance of cheaply trying to imitate wood. That being said, they blade and fittings are quality, even if the stainless steel blade comes smeared in what I can only describe as cosmoline. I would recommend this to my friends, but it needs some work on honing the edge and cleaning all the oil out of the handle and blade. If the scales were better and it had come clean, it would easily be 5 stars. It is still worth the purchase, but I cant justify giving it more than 3 stars

MADE IN USA
Good quality vintage looking Knife. Been eyeballing this for a while now. It’s built really well and is really sharp out of the Packaging. It comes really really oily from the manufactur but that doesn’t take away from the quality. I’ve been useing it to splice and strip Cable.. Oh yeah, it is MADE IN USA 👍🏼

My Favorite Everyday Knife
Some nicer scales are all I'd wish for to give this knife a full five stars. The shiny, hard plastic ones it has are too smooth and slippery if your hands are a little greasy or slimy. This three blade combination has always been my favorite configuration, so I was excited to see it offered by a reputable manufacturer like Klein. The slot-screwdriver blade is rigid enough to pry the lid off a paint can without bending or twist when applying a reasonable amount of torque to it...like the no-name brand examples I have had have usually done. The carbon steel blades are just the right hardness to sharpen easily yet hold an edge. I bought one of these knives about six years ago, and bought the one I have now about a year later after dropping the first one in the drink. I carry mine every day and hope Klein keeps making them forever.

Meh
These look like the high quality knife your grandpa carried but are actually cheap junk. Cheap plastic handles and the blades come dull and won’t hold an edge. These knives are for looks and not work

Almost as good as my original with wood handles. Looks like it will last a lifetime.

looks great
We had to return as I purchased this as a gift but it wasn't the knife he wanted, so had to return. Otherwise it looks great as far as quality.
