Tips. 1. Call and talk to real people! Ask questions before you buy. 2. There are Tips on the back of the instructions. Unfortunately, on the other side of the valuable tips is the template for mounting the unit! Recommend: Make a copy of the template and save the instruction brochure and “Tips.” 3. I was replacing my old leaky, 5 filter, RO which had a split off for the 1/4” line to my ice maker. I was told the tee was included. It was not. So if you have an ice maker already hooked up to a water source, you should only need a 3/8” X 3/8” X 1/4” tee. (Most ice makers use a 1/4" line). Order it when you order your system. 4. The company offers a tubing cutter. This is essential, if not for installation, then annual filter replacement. The tubing must be cut perfectly perpendicular to seat in the quick connect fittings. When you do your annual filter change, it is good to check the tubing leading to the quick connects on the filters. When you remove tubing from the quick connect, you will most likely see that the tubing has scrape marks on it. Reinserting it as is will probably mean a leak. Instead use the tubing cutter to remove just the section of tubing that is disfigured. That should provide a good quick connect seal. 5. Watch the installation video. Read the instructions and tips. Then use the installation video to guide you through installation. I watched sections several times to ensure I was doing it right. 6. Mounting the filter set. The template ensures you have clearance top and bottom for the filter set; however, the permeate pump must go next to the filters as well as the UV transformer. I placed the permeate pump bracket 8-9” from the center of the filter unit and about 5” lower; so the height was halfway up the filter set. That allowed the tubing between the two not to be bent at awkward angles. Then I mounted the UV transformer above the permeate pump to keep the wires out of any potential water leak. See photo. Basically the permeate pump is mounted midway up the cluster. 7. I had to add a multiple electrical outlet extender (GE Outlet Adapter on Amazon will work) to accommodate garbage disposal, dish washer, and UV plugs. I also ensured all electrical wiring was above tubing and not beneath or on the cabinet floor. Note: the power to the outlet for the garbage disposal is controlled by the wall switch. The extender should be plugged into the other outlet that the dishwasher uses. So on the latter outlet, you will have the UV light and dishwasher. That is the hot outlet. I only had a six socket extender, so on the top bank of 3 sockets is the garbage disposal. The bottom bank, the bottom hot socket, has the dishwasher and UV light. See photo. 8. I installed the tank last so I could squeeze in to make other attachments and mount brackets. See photo. It is cramped in there! 9. The video tells you to open the water supply line to the RO system gently. I did this, opening in small increments. It took about 2 minutes. ALSO: to ease water pressure, I turned on and ran the cold water at the sink as I was opening the supply line to the RO. 10. YIKES! I immediately noticed a leak at the 3/8” tank quick connect. Not panicking, I pushed it in and tugged on it. That seated it. 11. Flushing system takes a while, but no big deal. I used the water from the two flushes on plants in the yard. I also emptied my ice maker before I began installing the unit, and emptied it again after the second system flush. The ice also went on plants in the yard. 12. The good news: After all of this, no leaks and the TDS reading was 3! 13. Installation + 5 days. Well almost no leaks. We opened the cabinet and found water. The quick connect at the bottom of the RO faucet was leaking. In the instructions and video, they caution you to hand tighten it, but that is relative. I have an old wrist! So I got a 9/16 inch wrench and with just finger tip pressure tightened it until I could feel it seat. Be very careful not to over tighten, but do make sure it seats so it seals. The water to the faucet has a lot of pressure behind it. I'll check the tank pressure at the one year mark, but at this point it seems excessive. This could be due to the fact that the company is at about 1000 ft elevation and I'm at 5300.

Noisy, expensive, pain to install

Works great and I thought this was a pretty easy install. Most of it comes together, I just trimmed houses down to make it look neater. The flow is nice and fast. I have a well and this filters out the iron great. The PPM dropped 300. Very happy so far. I had bought a different one just before this one and that didn’t drop the PPM at all, even though the water tasted better and didn’t smell.

I am providing an update to my review first review of this product. After reflection and several phone calls from Will from Perfect Water Technologies, I decided to edit my review. I will address in more detail the pros and cons of this system. I have decided that the 2-star review was a bit harsh, I have upgraded it to 4 stars taking one (I am one the fence if one is enough or not but I will give them the benefit of my doubts.) for the poor assembly, clips, and tubing arrangement. First Let me explain I have been in the building trades for over 40 years, delivering a finished product that looks like this one would be considered poor at a minimum and unacceptable at worst. This training and trade craftsmanship drives this review. The Pros /The good: 1. It is easy to install for the most part. It comes with everything you would need for a typical under sink installation except for tools. It is reliable after more than a year in operation at my old home and a few weeks at my new home (I purchased a second unit) it delivers good quality and good tasting water. It works well, has great flow through and a decent faucet. If you account for the intended design which is to be installed under a sink by non-building trade trained homeowners it is a fair design. The Cons /The Bad: Cost: I still feel this unit is a bit overpriced for what it is. None of it seems to add up to something that should cost in the $400 to $500 range. The pump can be purchased for less than $70 right here on Amazon. I cannot, of course, provide a cost for the filters or the materials they are made of but their competition seems to be getting it done for far less. While I consider myself patriotic, the assertion that using American made parts makes the product better and therefore worthy of a higher cost seems a bit shallow. If your even a little familiar with good craftsmanship, construction or trade work you will hate the poor the way it looks. The marketing would lead the unsuspecting to believe this design is some type of high-performance, high tech, aerospace engineering and while the quality of the product may or may not be high performance, I can hardly stand to look at the disorganized ball of tubing and plastic clips. While the manufacturer asserts that a flow switch is not required, I am having a hard time accepting the claim that it is preferable to operate the lamp 24/7 when water flow should be less than a gallon at a time a few times a day at most. I would add here that the capacity is fine for an average user, for whom this system is designed. If you might use more than about one gallon at a time I would suggest a larger storage tank. I doubled my last system and it worked very well for larger usages. If the filtration quality and fast flow /permeate pump features were not far better than what I replaced I would have sent it back. In fact, I thought about it for 4 days before deciding to use it anyway. I am not sure where I got the 10-year warranty from, it appears I was mistaken and it is just 5 years, that said most of the system is replaced on a yearly schedule. In speaking with WIll it seems they can be replaced on a longer schedule but as the system is not provided with a means to determine what as needed is. How would a non-water quality expert homeowner know? The permeate pump, the UV housing, the faucet, the connection fittings, and the tubing is all that is left after the 1st year since the rest of the parts are the expendable materials. The instructions a fair but do not include a system/circuit diagram. The instructions come with a warning for Professionals and DIYers not to install this system without reading the instructions first. I assume they want the homeowner to install it as is and hope to discourage plumbers and DIYer from messing with what they send you. If you are a non-DIYer who wants a simple solution this is for you. In my first installation, I re-piped the system and fitted it into a cabinet I built for it. This is surely far more than the intended user would be expected to do. but I felt it was necessary in order to install it where I wanted it to be located and to hide the appearance of this unit. In my second installation, I decided to try installing it as designed. It went well but I decided to build a cabinet around the utility sink I installed it under so I would not have to see how messy it looked. I hope to post a few pictures in a future update.

(01/03/2016) Finally! Great tasting water without hauling cases of bottled water, which bottles were not labeled BPA-free, from the grocery stores. Continual access to safe, chemical-free, pharmaceutical-free and great tasting water becomes even more important when cancer strikes a loved one. Having safe water for cooking, drinking, and washing organic produce for juicing is a wonderful blessing. I especially like the separate tap which was easy to install even when having to drill a separate hole in the stainless steel sink since I did not want to give up the hose sprayer. Thank Goodness for available conveniences such as this system. (9/17/2016) It has been eight months since I ordered the Home Master TMULTRA-ERP UItra Undersink Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System and it has proven itself to be worth every cent including the cost of having a plumber install it for me. I only wish the reserve tank was larger but then it would not fit under my sink! The fact is that having this system in place has made life easier for me to better care for my husband who was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer which prompted me to search & compare water filtration systems and deciding on this one. I don't worry about chemicals in the water nor about compromised water due to non-bpa free water bottles exposed to heat during transport to retailers. I just pour from the system's tap to wash and then to steam organic veggies in addition to other meal preparation needs. Even my aquarium fish have benefited from having this system in place. Should have purchased it long before the need. I highly recommend this.

I think that this is a good product, but the installation is definitely not Easy. The tubing from the ice maker kit is not the proper size, I had to go to Home Depot and make my own attachments for it to work. I do not recommend this product for people that are not handy.

Tangled up mess. The mounting is sloppy and disorganized. Im sure it would work fine but for the money you think you'd have a more organized way for mounting. Instructions are terrible as well. Im going to return it.

Purchased the system in October 2015 to eliminate my Culligan $30/mo. 6.5 years later it's still working, I love my RO water taste and it's paid for itself a couple of times over now. Note: My water bill do go up because it takes 3+ gallons of water to make 1 gallon of RO water which puts me over the 1st tier threshold. * Jan 2022 reordered the filter set that I always re-order (thank you Amazon for making that so easy) and was sent the wrong filter set. Didn't realize until I was trying to replace the Iron filter and it was the Artesian filter which has a different size hose connection. So, CHECK your replacement filters BEFORE installing them in case you're sent the wrong package. Wish I could purchase just the Sediment filter from Amazon because every time the Water District works on the pipes, it's the sediment filter that gets clogged up first. Have to go to theperfectwater.com to buy individually.
