It's a little frustrating when someone at the game table starts making up the rules to the game. And no one can remember all the rules for all the card games! This settles all the arguments and gives you new card games you didn't know about to play with your friends and family! Great gift!

Works just like it was described

Eh, not for all dummies. Not the easiest to follow instructions for someone who doesn't have any card game background. Uses card lingo w/out clearly explaining first.

I was looking for an instruction book to learn card games, and this book fits the bill.Easy to read, and it explains strategy and rules for so many games, I will be referring to it often.

This is a great reference book to have in your home. Before I purchased this book, there were many occasions where questions came up about the rules and scoring of card games. I wished I would have had that book then.

Bought it to learn basic poker. Will try some of the other games as well

Ok but costly

We bought this for my daughter as someone gave her a pack of cards for Christmas. Having not played cards since I was a kid, my memory was very rusty on many of the games we used as entertainment before the advent of 24 hour tv. We have had such fun since getting this book, having re-learnt games my dad taught us,learning new ones, and actually sitting round a table as a family laughing rather than all sitting staring blankly at a screen all night. From basic games like snap and go fish right up to things like bridge and poker this book caters for all, and I would recommend all families should get a deck of cards and this book and revisit the tv free evenings of our childhood

I bought this and two decks of cards to use as a gift for a gift exchange where everyone was supposed to bring a type of game. It was unique instead of bringing a standard board game, the person who ended up with it really liked it!I might have to buy myself a copy, quite a few different games, most of which are new to me, and the instructions seemed clear.

I purchased this to supplement my knowledge on a couple of card games. Fits the bill perfectly.
