I had the same problem. You can buy sisal rope to replace the worn out rope. I used small thin nails to secure it at both ends. Works a treat. Previous towers' tops would wobble after so long balanced on just one pole). Most towers seem best fit for kittens; this is a great size for adults. I think the only 'con' - and I use the term lightly - is that the ledge between the middle and top tiers is quite small. My cat can't step up but rather has to run and climb up like a ladder. This is not an issue for my cat, but I thought that information MAY be of some concern for anyone with a cat who may need that extra help. I recommend scrolling through the photos for others reviews and some provide a great example of this. Overall, the near 5 star rating is accurate. I would highly recommend this tower to anyone questioning if the reviews and ratings are real. The quality is wonderful, it's sturdy and very easy to assemble by just one person.
