Awesome frame pack
I bought this pack for a dual purpose. The first and main use is for transporting my double bull blind into the turkey woods. I attach it with bungee cords, along with two chairs and hang a book bag full of gear on it and the pack simply works awesome. The blind and chairs sit on the ledge at the bottom and don't slide out. The pack is very light weight, strong, durable and super comfortable when packing things in and out. I haven't tried it for backpacking in on a camping trip, but I think it would work great. And the price I found was very reasonable. I would strongly recommend this product.

Vacuum?
Do I dare admit this? This frame is almost perfect, but I'm not even using it outdoors! It's all about vacuum cleaners! I'm not a fan of uprights, and dragging a canister around keeps tangling up with things. I wanted a backpack vacuum so the unit says with me. What's available are either pricey or suspiciously cheap looking (or both). I actually bought a GV backpack vacuum which is well enough (details elsewhere) but I still had a couple old canister vacs (with MUCH better power heads than the GV) that I just couldn't bring myself to throw out. Rather I've spent months combing Craigslist looking for a decent backpack frame that I could strap those old canister vacs to. No real luck (or those offered locally were way pricey). I stumbled on this frame and the shelf was a perfect solution to my objectives. I can set the canister on the shelf, strap it to the frame, and behold! a cheap and re-purposed backpack vacuum cleaner. My only to-be-resolved issue is the power switch can't be reached while wearing the combo (may put a switch in the power cord, but that's a low priority). So, at least so far, I'm hugely pleased.

Lightweight and sturdy way to haul various things
So far, so good. Used this to haul 2 large tote bins up to my campsite, as well as a few other things like my sleeping pad, etc. It was comfortable to wear and was able to hold the weight I was carrying, but I will say that I had to used extra tie-down straps to actually secure the stuff I was carrying. That may not be an issue for everyone, but is good to know. I would like if there were longer straps integrated into the frame itself so that I didn't need to use my own tie-downs or bungees. That said, it's a pretty decent item so far and I can still picture using it for a variety of things.

Exactly as good as my 25 yo previous Freighter. Used for hunting and forestry work.
The Stansport Freighter has been remarkably good for 2 decades +. It does need additional straps and stronger attachments (hate the plastic clips). I have salvaged all the usable pins and clips from the old one and they have been useful as a field repair kit! Over time, the frame failed under heavy loads. Ordering it thru Amazon Prime is an ordeal!

Surprisingly sturdy for the price.
You came here for the price. So did I. Well, it's a surprisingly good pack for the money. Would I choose it to pack out 100+ pounds at a time? No. But if you're buying it 'just in case' for a one-time trip, like me, you aren't planning on 100+lb loads. It'll absolutely do fine for the 50-75 pound loads you're expecting to have.

Good design. Crap quality
I really like the design of this backpack. It's not a common configuration to find and it is incredibly lightweight and comfortable, unfortunately it's a strange mix of good planning and poor execution. I had it out of the Box for all but 2 minutes before The webbing attached to the bottom fabric began to come away. The stitching on this thing is anything but robust, and in some parts is designed in such a way that the force of tension is exactly at the right angle to peel away from its intended anchoring point. If I had not already been planning on reinforcing all sewed points and adding more anchors, I would surely send it back immediately, and probably could have done so before the UPS truck had even left my street. All that being said, the frame is lightweight and the straps aren't bad, so it should be a platform to build my expedition pack off of, but if you don't plan on making heavy modifications by yourself I wouldn't plan on trusting this pack with anything too heavy or valuable.

Well built
I could not find a retro / 1980s style backpack so I bought this for hauling 2ft lengths of lumber into the woods to build a bog bridge. It’s rated for 75pound loads, but it carried a dozen 100pound loads about a quarter mile at a time. Still looks like new. Has good options for securing loads. Performed perfectly and is ready for the next project.

Cheap meat hauler if you hunt
I wore this for six days elk hunting. One of the days I carried about 30lb. I think it’s moderately comfortable. I am rating it five stars on performance in regards to price. There’s better backpacks out there. For the price point this is a five star.

Feels incredibly sturdy. Would have liked a few more attachment points
Feels incredibly sturdy. Would have liked a few more attachment points, but you get what you pay for. Great little frame, I'll put it through hell and report back if it doesn't live up to expectations.

You will want to add a proper belt and harness
The aluminum frame seems OK for the price. The black nylon (?) harness and belt system seems very cheaply made and not something you can rely on. I will be using a better quality harness & belt from a milsurp pack frame instead.
