These shoes fit very well without having to loosen them. They are the right size for me as I ordered a 9D(m) US. My normal size has been 8 & 1\2 wide or x-wide. If I want I could even were thin socks with them. I also have always had to buy extra wide shoes to fit my feet and these fit the bill there, too. I can't bend over to tighten them so I needed to fix them first and then slip into them. The only problem I have is trying to bring the back of the shoe(the heel) up over my ankle even with a shoe horn because the fabric is too soft for me to catch it and pull it up. But that is ok as I wear them as a sandal and I don't really care if the heel goes up on these. I would want that if this shoe were a fully closed shoe though. The heel is soft enough to wear flattened under my heel without any discomfort. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. They shipped in the correct time frame earlier rather than later.
