I'll just write this here so that other people know how to open them.You need to insert the key into the keyhole and ONLY push, do not turn it. There is a small latch inside that when you push it will unlatch from the top part and let you open the house. You might have to push the key and pull open the lid at the same time as the latch is harder in some of the houses (might need a bit of strength) and as soon as you stop pushing it will go back to its place. The key is a bit flimsy compared to how much strength you have to use to open it, so I don't know how many uses you can get out of it, so far the ones I got are intact but I imagine with repeated use they might break (there's 2 inside so there's an extra). If the keys break, you will still be able to open it with something thin and strong (that's how we first opened it because we couldn't figure out how to use the keys).Besides that, these are amazing. They are like the toys from that other brand that used to exist 20 years ago which were amazing. These are exactly like those, even the little dolls are the same size. I don't know why that other brand changed their products, but I'm glad it came back from someone else. These have so many little details inside and are so well designed, even with the difficult opening I couldn't give them less than 5 stars.PS. In this cafe, if you insert the key at the keyhole under the ice cream a little bunny pops up, it's very cute!

Quite boring once opened (with a screwdriver) no way wee fingers can open this! One wee doll inside. My granddaughter played with it for 10 minutes. Definitely not recommended

Excitingly cute my 9 yo is really into this. Not the easiest to unlock though, quite stiff and wish it was easier, but given the reasonable price cant complain!

I bought this item as a gift for my granddaughter and we were both equally disappointed with it! The 'key' you need to open the toy is so flimsy it took ages to open the toy and we were then worried about shutting it again in case the key broke. Both of my granddaughters love Shopkins and have spent many happy hours playing with other purchases but this was a definite thumbs down.
