There is a small latch inside that when you push it will unlatch from the top part and let you open the house. You might have to push the key and pull open the lid at the same time as the latch is harder in some of the houses (might need a bit of strength) and as soon as you stop pushing it will go back to its place. The key is a bit flimsy compared to how much strength you have to use to open it, so I don't know how many uses you can get out of it, so far the ones I got are intact but I imagine with repeated use they might break (there's 2 inside so there's an extra). If the keys break, you will still be able to open it with something thin and strong (that's how we first opened it because we couldn't figure out how to use the keys).Besides that, these are amazing. They are like the toys from that other brand that used to exist 20 years ago which were amazing. These are exactly like those, even the little dolls are the same size. I don't know why that other brand changed their products, but I'm glad it came back from someone else. These have so many little details inside and are so well designed, even with the difficult opening I couldn't give them less than 5 stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas present *by M***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 February 2020* My 6 year old niece loved this! She played with it all Christmas Day! Perfect gift for her! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars A lovely update of Polly Pocket. *by M***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2019* A nice little set. Much more like vintage polly pockets than the current Polly Pockets are! But my little one found it very stiff and difficult to open - which is great for security out and about but can be frustrating for a six year old. The colour palette is pleasing, the detail is nice. But you would need another set to have visitors to the shop, at least one of the mini lockets. Buuuttt the dolls from these set also fit vintage polly sets, as well as vintage figures fit in these. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/133711360-shopkins-lil-secrets-shop-keypers-pocket-shop-playset-cool-scoops](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/133711360-shopkins-lil-secrets-shop-keypers-pocket-shop-playset-cool-scoops) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-31*
