Not your Disney tale...
1st I love that this tells the traditional story of Snow White with the multiple attempts by the wicked queen.2nd, though brief, the same story told within several other cultures is a great way to show how universal the themes are.An awesome way to introduce multi-culturalism to younger kids!

definitely not my favorite. Recently I watched the Disney version where it states that Snow White was put under a spell which is why she was so foolish. Knowing that I found a new appreciation for Snow White. Also the Disney version seemed pretty close to the actual version. So I thought maybe all versions were like that? Anyway that's my fault for not doing proper research. But the writing itself wasn't good. It sounded stunted and unnatural. It sounded more like reading a Wikipedia version of the story. It wasn't really telling the story just stating what happened. It got 2 stars for being in good condition and coming on time...other than that it wasn't that good.

Name-PhillipMy favorite part of Snow White is when the queen looked in the mirror and asked who is the fairest of all and it said Snow White. My least favorite part was that a mirror can talk. That is so unrealistic. Stars-4Name-EdenMy favorite part is when she reflected in the mirror. My least favorite part is when someone died. Too violent for small children
I think if the book was advertised with a recommended age, it would be okay. But for young children interested in all things princess, there’s several stories that have aspects too strong for such a age. It’s well written and all but the first story have lovely illustrations. It’s just not a good story for children, despite the cover appealing to them. The moral of “do not be jealous” is lost by fingers being cut off, needles pushed through keyholes into foreheads, and a sultans son who puts his wife in prison to marry his “true love.” I’m sorry to the author, as I do believe they are good stories and it was a lot of work to translate - just better off towards a young adult or tween audience, perhaps. For that older age group, I’d give far more stars and a higher review.
