## Questions & Answers

**Q: I need to have more than 6 zone control, can i chain 2 of these together? i want to use 5 niles si 1650 16 channel amps to power my 72 speakers.**
A: You can chain two mrc6430's together for 12 zone control

**Q: Need 2 replace a 4-zone manual speaker selector in the basement powering 2 sets of bose 701's...will this work? Do I need pre-amps? Need remote capab**
A: I have 4 zones working perfectly with unit. No pre-amp is needed as far as I know. Not sure about the power needed for the bose 701's. The MRC 6430 provides 30 watts per channel for each zone. i would believed you can bridge 2 zones as one fot more power, but not sure. Hope it helps

**Q: Can I connect a Subwoofer as output ?**
A: It only has a R and L audio input and output. But if you sub has a build in filter it could work

**Q: The unit says power supply: 100–120 / 220–240 v~, 50 / 60 hz. i assume it's compatible in europe (220v) without a voltage converter?**
A: Just plug it in. MRC6430 has internal power-switching.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐ Barely works
*by P***5 on December 30, 2019*

It worked briefly when it was first installed, but then it started having a lot of weird hiccups. There was one summer I could only access internet radio for a while and then it got stuck on one Spotify playlist. Now the app can see the receiver but when I click on it, the app fails to connect. Rebooting the receiver brings it back to life for a brief moment, but it's ultimately inaccessible again. Sad that such a nice piece of equipment is so faulty.

### ⭐ Worked and then it failed.

Worked fine for about a year and then it failed. Won't power on. Can't get in touch with the seller.

I installed the Niles MRC6430 in July and have been running it pretty-much everyday for the last 5 or 6 weeks. Without a doubt this is an elegant addition to our whole-home audio system. The software is flawless (I will quickly change my rating to 5-stars if Niles will provide a Windows-Mobile App); we are running the App on a Windows PC and three Android devices. Programming was straight-forward and easy. I did not use a System Integrator to set this up: I read the 128-page tutorial in about 30minutes, and then took another 30minutes to complete my set up. Easy! This is the successor to Niles' ZR6 which is what initially attracted me to Niles. ZR6 does not have the application software that MRC6430 has (requires keypads in every room), but I think Niles did cheap-out on MRC6430 by only including 4 amps instead of 6 (zones 5 & 6 are line-out only). As a result I had to purchase 2 of Niles' SI250 amplifiers to drive zones 5 & 6Getting the controller to turn off is a bit of a challenge but I think we have it down now: You must press the one-and-only front-panel button twice - with just the right amount of timing between each depression - and then wait about 20seconds for the unit to power off. The power ON cycle is quick and requires only one press of the button. I'm pretty sure Niles recommends leaving the unit on continuously, which I will do once I have my cooling fans in place. The unit does generate some heat.Niles makes a WiFi Remote for this (nHR200), but for $830 bucks I'm quite happy using my cell phone thank you very much. All in all... we wanted a system of WIRED speakers (shame on Bose and Sonos) in multiple zones that could be controlled through our home WiFi and MRC6430 delivered !!!
