USA KR22A 10-Button Credit Card Remote

The controller, as shipped, is strange. I received 3 units, but none worked! The LED at the top would not light and it would not trigger an X10 receiver.I opened the device and checked the 2 stacked CR2016 (3 volt) batteries with a battery tester. Both were ok.The instructions state that the device will work with 2-stacked CR2016 ore one C2032 ! How is this possible? For the stacked batteries, the voltage to the unit is 6 volt, but one CR2332 provides only 3 volts!A CR2032 is supplied in the package, so I decided to try it. The device worked as advertised - LED lit and would trigger the X10 receiver !I don't understand why these are shipped with the 2 stacked batteries that obviously doesn't work.If you buy this, immediately open it up and replace the batteries with the CR2032.

I bought two of these. They worked only for a range of about 6 feet after I took them from the box. The batteries were nearly dead. It takes 2 CR2016 3v batteries. I had to buy a card of three at Radio Shack for about $13.00, I then found that the range is about 20 feet in direct line of site, and the OFF buttons only work they feel like it. You might have to press the dang things 3 or 4 times before it turns the TM751 Transceiver off. Both remotes are junk! I'm going to buy the X10 Palm Pad Controller and hope it works better than these two pieces of trash. Amazon is getting these back.

The unit we ordered didn't work. No range at all. Had to put it next to the receiver unit for it to work at all. Checked the battery and it was fine. It's a good design, but we must have received one with a defect in the electronics or the antenna. The seller gave us a prompt refund after we returned it (at our expense). Our other remote, which is a different model and a bit larger, works fine from anywhere in the house.

Range is less than optimum

This thing never worked and it is too cheap to bother returning. Other X10 remotes that I have work well but the buttons wear out quickly and now you must press very hard to activate them. X10 has had a quality problem for years. Many of their modules don't work well for very long. I'll try a different brand next time. X10 is the cheapest but maybe this is a situation where you get what you pay for.

For 4 modules or less, these are better than the regular x10 remote for one simple reason: drop this and it doesn't smash apart and never work again. It's so light it takes zero damage from falls! That is all.

HELPI have the keychain remote but need new battery but instructions simply say "pry case open to change battery" Pry where? Pry how? I don't want to break case. Anyone actually changed the keychain remote battery? How????

One of those moments that none of us like. The product failed. The dealer apologized and didn't even want me to return it....that was one hassle that was eliminated. . .
