Stopper has to be pressed all the way down into the bottle. Then use the pump.If the pump doesn't vacuum well, you can run some cooking oil through it, and clean out the excess. Product broke first time used. Top handle came off and product would not work after replacing. Unfortunately, we had already cut up packaging to gain access and discarded. Will pay more for next brand purchased.

Will's Kuissential Wine Vacuum Pump
I am truly pleased with my Kuissential Wine Vacuum Pump. I've owned plastic wine vacuum pumps, but they paled compared to my Kuissential Wine Vacuum Pump. The vacuum closure assured the last drop of my wine was just as good as the first. The stainless steel casing is attractive, durable and functional. Kudos to your company for this device.

My review was requested by Kuissential: After one time use the stopper did not function properly. it would not hold a vacuum. The second one seems to be working OK. There is no way to effectively release the pressure so you can remove the stopper easily. On a vacuum pump I had previously, you just had to toggle the top of the stopper to release pressure, I tried to toggle, press, etc. but to no avail. I have to pull the stopper like opening a champagne bottle. I have not tried the remaining two yet.

Not very durable
The first pump came apart the initial time I used it. I superglued it back together but shouldn’t have had to do so the first time.

Pick a different one.
It simply doesn't work. The pump doesn't suck air out of the stoppers. And the top handle of the pump keeps coming off. The whole product just is a waste of money. Amazon probably should remove this product.

This is a very good product. It keeps one wine fresh after being uncorked by being able to vacuum the air out of the bottle. Having four stoppers allows one to have more than one flavor open at a time.
