It's not just going to detach itself. It came wrapped in tissue paper and a box IN a plastic protective bag. Against a light colored dress that might not be an issue. However my dress is dark so you would be able to see the white mesh.Also, all of the beads and Pearl's are not glued down all the way. I would not think this belt would make it through the night.Lastly, the pattern of the beads is not right. Some are crooked or lopsided.The only thing I like about this belt is the color.
