It's cute. Our daughter is 3 and it's just the right speed for her.

I enjoy reading Marcia Williams's comic strip books even though I am way too old for the intended age range of these books. These are the kind of beginners books that save me the time of wading through the interminable stories of some authors (especially Charles Dickens). My favourite book happens to be the Shakespeare plays with the audience reactions around the page edges. Very funny.

I wasn't a fan of some of the violent components of the book (e.g., the crocodile trying to eat the monkeys heart or the elephant caretaker getting questioned, or the nagging crocodile wife). I love the imagery though.
