Only The Best
Ive had many others and hadnt had one as good as this one. I bought one of these 8 yrs ago and I'm still using it. Im just now buying a replacement. That might sound unbelievable but it's true. As far as battery life I don't need another battery for a few months, one battery does the trick and I'm on my laptop all day and night because I work from home. It's been left on many times for several hours while I've been away from home and had forgotten to turn it off and the battery was still going strong. More than a few times thats happened and that was with the same battery. There is a light on the top that lights up green when you first put a battery in. The light turns red when the battery gets close to needing a new one. This is the only mouse I'll buy now after going through many others. I hadnt found the right fit for me, speaking for myself and preference. It has everything i need in a mouse.

High quality and low price
Original review November 4 2010:I've been very happy with this mouse. the battery finally ran out today, which means it lasted for almost 2 months. Considering how much I use it, and the fact that it runs on just one AA battery, I'd say that's a pretty long time. The battery life would probably be even better if I had regularly turned it off between uses. The mouse installed fine on both the Windows and Linux partitions of my PC, but when running Linux it sometimes gets a glitch where the wheel scrolls in huge increments. However, removing and reinserting the dongle corrects the problem. The mouse is compact and easy to carry around, yet is still big enough that using it doesn't force your hand into awkward positions. As for the dongle, it's extremely small, so you don't have to worry about it bending or breaking the USB port unless you're actually aiming for it. I've also used the mouse on just about every surface possible, including my dog, and have never had trouble with tracking. This is a very good product, and if you don't have a built-in Bluetooth adapter or don't want to go through the (albeit slight) trouble of pairing a Bluetooth device, I'd definitely recommend it.Update November 30 2013:Still rocking it 3 years later. This thing is invincible. I don't even remember the last time I changed the battery. Works great on the Mac I have now as well.

Great mouse, but tricky color.
I just got this mouse a few days after ordering it. I forget the sellers name but their service is great and despite Amazon's $35 order for free shipping, this outfit shipped for free and without sales tax. Cool. The mouse is just right for my fairly small hand, and silky smooth sliding across my mouse pad. One small issue;the Amazon photo shows the mouse as a kind of deep Royal blue. In reality, it's a metallic blue and a shade or more darker.A kind of "gun-metal" blue. Still attractive, but I would have preferred the color shown. A little thing. This is the first optical mouse that I have had with the blue LED light source. It seems no better than the usual red LED, but then I use a conventional mouse pad. On a different table surface, the blue source might well have significant advantages. My computer is running Windows 7 Home 64-bit, and when I installed the mouse USB transceiver it was recognized immediately and caused an automatic search and download of the driver. Quick and easy. The mouse ships with an alkaline AA battery (a Duracell "Copper-Top" battery, to be precise).I've only used it for a short time, but it works beautifully and I love it's silky smoothness across my pad. A nice feel, all around.

Color is Way Off But Otherwise Great
I was really looking forward to the beautiful teal-turquoise color pictured, but in reality it's a quite dark medium blue that does not particularly stand out.Otherwise it works fine. The middle button is different in that it barely depresses when pressed. I use the middle button all the time to open links in a new tab in the background. Between the button barely depressing when pressed and hardly making any sound, I find myself looking up to check if a new tab has actually opened, which it always has. I'm sure I'll get used to it and trust that it's working. That feature is one that was malfunctioning with my previous mouse so I'm a little gun shy right now.I did not download the software that it comes packaged with. The drivers downloaded automatically and it worked without much ado. I honestly don't notice any difference with the BlueTrack technology and cannot speak for battery longevity yet.In case it helps anybody, I was having problems with my old mouse behaving erratically, single clicks acting like I had double-clicked, impossible to highlight and drag anything, etc. The problems would come and go. I tried two different mice, a cordless and a wired and both had the same problems. Tried many reboots, uninstalling mouse, etc. Both mice were Logitech so the only thing I could think of was to try a different brand and so far the Microsoft mouse is working fine.

Excellent little mouse
I really love my mouse. I actually wore the finish of my first mouse clean off, but the mouse itself still works. I wanted a new mouse because I could hear the talk around the water cooler about the little naked mouse I played with for hours each day. Now I play with my naked mouse private and have this shiny new one for my public life. My wife said I am going through a mid life crisis, but I told her no, that is what the barrels of Guinness is for.
