Searched for bassinet 4 long time - so happy with this! & can use long term as a crib/travel crib.
Works great - easy to fold and set up once you know the trick (sides first, then bottom when setting up; bottom then sides when folding & slide sides a bit up or down to make it easier to fold them). I bought this primarily to use as a bassinet (after LOTS of research) while my daughter stayed with us after having her baby (her other kids were sick and she and her husband did not want the baby to get sick too). Great height at bassinet level - she could see the baby and reach him easily from bed - and SO much cheaper and more useful than those fancy bassinets that hang over side of bed or shake/twirl around. And it feels so much sturdier - we were afraid her 4 year old would take the baby for quite a spin in those - plus there is nothing to break or stop working on this. You don't need that rocking or shaking to make a baby sleep - plus they'd eventually have to transition to a crib without all that anyway. Walking around a baby store we found those fancy bassinets did not have support on all sides so the sleeping surface could easily slightly tip to one side which we worried about. Guess that is why they have such low limits for the maximum baby weights. Again, we knew her toddlers would hold on to the sides to see the baby as well. This bassinet can be used for larger babies and even toddlers (without the bassinet insert) so we'll get years of use as bassinet/crib/travel crib. Biggest deal is the baby sleeps great in here. We never missed for a second the other fancy packnplay accessories that double or triple the cost. We bought the quilted and regular sheet made especially for this packnplay but baby sleeps well without them too. Unsafe to add extra mattresses but those are not needed anyway. The reason we bought two - my daughter has one now in her open kitchen/living room so she has a safe place to put the baby out of the way of her rambunctious 4 and 2 year olds and where she can still keep an eye on the baby easily. I kept mine so I can do the same. I can easily move it down to my basement playroom myself pretty quickly when we play with the kids down there. To save on the price - Check the different patterns as this pattern was much cheaper than the same one in a different pattern. Plus the price fluctuates so watch the price - we got one for $79 and one for $55. So to new moms and grandmoms - I am writing this only to help you out - I have nothing against all those fancy baby items - but there is so much baby stuff to buy - don't get caught up in the hype - you really don't need it and then it only becomes a problem to store. Buy only sensible items that you truly need and will work for you long term. if you want a bassinet that you can use now and later as a crib or travel crib this is a great option.

Using for newborn overnight sleep
Just received and LOVE! This is a simple playard with the option to set up as a Bassinet. Keep in mind that It does not come with any of the bells and whistles as the other pack and plays and it does not come with any storage space or caddies.I ordered the color Stratus and its a nice deep dark blue with teal and mint cloud patterns along all 4 of the top edges. The toy bar comes with detachable toys (they are secured on to the toy bar with velcro), and there is a set of wheels on one side of the playard to help you roll it from one room to the other. I have french doors all around my house, so I do not have trouble getting it from room to room, however it is easy to snap close and lightweight enough to carry in case you find it too wide for your door frame. It was really simple and quick for my husband to set up (note that you have to snap the sides in place and then push from the base to get it set up, otherwise the sides will not snap together.) The instructions read the same as ikea instructions, but it really does not take much to get it up and running. The bassinet portion sits about one foot deep, and is really sturdy and feels safe. I felt comfortable enough to add the Dream on Me 3" Playard Mattress for added height and comfort, (this is a great fit mattress and is light so it feels secure). This was purely a personal choice as it does not really need it, I just liked the way it brings the baby closer to arms reach and the people at BuyBuyBaby also recommended adding a mattress if I chose to use the bassinet for newborn overnight sleeping. Our Dock a Tot also fits with enough room on the edges. We have our first newborn baby boy on the way and I did not want to spend too much money on the Halo Bassinet ( I keep hearing that most babies outgrow it fast) AND I did not like any of the changing pads or baby rockers that come on the other pack n plays. I just wanted something simple that we could continue to use over time, and this one was perfect for the price..so hopefully he likes it!Overall really happy with our purchase, will update my review once our little guy actually gets here.****edit!****It’s been 15 months since baby arrived and we are still using this! A must buy, and for sure add a mattress to it! He went from newborn sleeping in this, to nap times, to play time (we put balls in it like a mini ball pit) and he even learned to walk in it as he would walk from one end to the other safely. Get it :)

Very versatile!
I love this pack and play bassinet combo. I have had it for just over 2 years now. We bought a pack and play mattress so it was a little more comfortable for our little ones. It wasn't too difficult to set up or take apart! Very stable once put together properly, including the bassinet attachment after you lay the pack and play base mattress down! It looks like every standard pack and play. It is easy to pack and move, but sometimes you have to fidget with the bassinet attachments in the bag to get everything to fit comfortably. I think this has been the most used thing I have ever bought. It is worth the money!
