BEST HOSE EVER! I searched and scoured the internet for a "drinking water safe" hose to water my garden with that was also made in the USA, that doesn't kink and didn't cost a small fortune!!! This hose is it! I previously purchased several only to find in tiny print inside the label that they contained cancer causing chemicals, WHO? seriously WHO? wants to use a hose for anything let alone a food growing garden that contains that! I don't even want to wash my truck or use one in my yard like that for anything! Finally I found this hose originally in a random search because amazon allows other hose sellers to dominate the search engine so even when I searched USA made drinking water hose this one still didn't come up(NOTE to seller you may want to work on that cause you would sell a ton more of these!) This hose also is sold on tractor supply site and the 75 ft longer hose is cheaper there. I bought 3 of these hoses, the 50 ft was cheaper here on amazon. Look no further this really is the BEST HOSE EVER. I don't take the time to leave reviews unless a product is extremely fabulous or extremely horrible! AND I actually use my product before leaving that review! Follow directions to lay hose out in sun when removing from package to let it get the packaging tight roll out then no kinks!

I was excited when Colorite hose and my new watering wand arrived. The hose is very thick and heavy, which was O.K. with because I wanted something that was lead free, kink free, and would last a very long time. I hooked up the hose to the spigot and the wand to the end of the hose. When I turned on the hose water started spraying from the so called "High performance lead-free brass coupling" near the wand. My homes watering system is know where near the 500psi that this hose can handle. When I looked at the coupling near the spigot it was dripping as well. I didn't have any other hoses, so I have watered my plants for a week while deciding if I want to take it back to Amazon, or go through the Colorite warrantee process. While watering I have found that the hose kinks very easily. I believe this is due to the lack of flexibility in it's design. I counted 5 kinks in the hose the last time I went out! I am infuriated because now I have to pay to return the hose, or pay to send back both couplings and 6" of hose to Colorite hoping I got a bad apple. I'll keep you updated.

The hose is pretty good quality. It is very heavy duty. The large diameter makes water pour out like a fire hydrant, if you have the water pressure to begin with. For suburban use, it's just too much, though. It is very heavy & hard to move. It doesn't kink much - it just wraps around itself & won't budge! It is so stiff that the coils & twists are a real pain to undo. It also will break most garden store variety hose reels. You will need a heavy duty reel to store this baby. If you need to put out fires or do heavy duty chores on the ranch, get this hose. If you think a heavy duty hose will help you take care of your quarter acre of grass in the burbs, think again...

Sometime after receiving the second hose (Jan/2012) the first hose failed at the spigot end (female) coupling. The hose had been left hooked up, drained, nozzle closed (out of habit), and I went to use it one afternoon only to discover that the hose had simply popped off of the coupling! The only explanation I could come up with was that the hot sun had heated the hose and any small amount of moisture remaining therein and the resultant air/steam pressure caused the failure. I was not at all happy, but having the second hose on hand allowed me to press it into service as a replacement. Since the lifetime warranty was a factor in my purchasing the hose in the first place, I contacted the manufacturer (Colorite/Swan) by email and, after a couple of back-and-forth transmissions I was told that a replacement would be shipped at no cost and should be received in 4-6 weeks (a later email from them mentioned 3 weeks, but I planned on the original schedule). Usually impatient with these situations, and often on the wrong end of them, I almost did a check-in call at week four but held off and, to my surprise and great relief, the new hose arrived one day shy of 5 weeks from first contact!! One problem or issue, especially where I share at least a portion of the blame (leave nozzle open on uncharged lines), will not dissuade me from recommending this hose to others, and I will most certainly repurchase myself as the need arises. If you are thinking of getting this.... - very heavy - doesn't so much kink as it twists and is horrible to get straight - not flexible If u are going to keep this out all the time...maybe for use from a side spigot to rear or front of house probably a good deal. But, if you are going to unwind or uncoil, use, and wind back up not the right choice. I had a rubber hose before a move that was very durable, 4 plus years, and wound up great in a suncast box. Left it when I moved, too bad

I bought three of these hoses. The first two were to make a DIY “lowfi” garden hose delay for my recording studio because (in theory) the thick walls wouldn’t allow for sound to “jump” from one leg to another radially - I was right about that! Built a single large (think the size of one of those “smaller” plate reverb units) 5’x3’x3’ unit with an approximately 75’ (long delay) hose coiled inside alongside an approximately 50’ (short delay) hose. Sm58 microphones without their windscreens were affixed inside air-tight PVC fittings on the end of each to pickup the delayed or “wet” sound. The other end of each had its own 2” cube mono speaker that I wired with an aggressive high-pass frequency filter inline to avoid filling the hoses with sub-wub-garbage frequencies. These speakers were also isolated inside PVC fittings from Home Depot and surrounded inside said fittings with spray foam. This entire thing I’ve just described was then itself held in place with a 2nd mortgage of spray foam sprayed all around it inside an old cedar chest I got at a yard sale and lined inside with acoustic blocking puddy material to keep the outside out. I cut into the top of the lid and installed a custom cut metal panel with dual XLR/TRS jacks for both the “short” and “long” inputs and outputs. I added a mono tube preamplifier to each output to give them some warm amps before heading back to the console. Each input had a true-bypassable crystal clear clean mono amplifier on it as well so I could push those little speakers to their limits and drive the hoses with enough juice for the incoming audio tracks to make it all the way through. I was going to add an optional blend knob on the output side (took the time to learn calculus to calculate, and measure out exact lengths of hose so that the audio coming out of one at the speed of sound would take double the time of the other for this exact purpose) but at this point I asked myself why was I doing all of this when I have no friends, no clients at the studio, and no social media or YouTube presence to share it with… so I left it as it was right there in the floor and haven’t touched it in 9 years. But the third hose I got carried water good. Lasted buried underground under a gravel driveway for a decade. Never rotted. Still works. So there’s that…

This is an excellent heavy-duty hose. I've replaced several since I bought this one. In fact I bought two "to save money" recently that immediately kinked and I could barely get a trickle from them. Unfortunately the price has more than doubled since I purchased this hose. If you are tired of replacing hoses every year and can stomach the extra price, this is the hose to buy.

Very good quality

Water leaks at the connector. Replaced the seal, same thing, still leaks. Went straight into my garbage can.
