Perfect for using my phone as navigator
I have a Subaru Forester without navigation. I used a pop socket on the middle of my steering wheel to attach my phone for navigation. Then I realized if my airbag goes off I get it smack in the face. So I started to look for something else and found this clasp. It snaps on the middle hood on dash perfectly for my phone. It is tough and I had to really work to open it so I feel pretty sure it will stay in place and will not crack when trying to get it on. I am worried about what the sun will do to after exposed for a while and if the tight grip will dent the dash after being on a while. I guess being sturdy and staying on is a good trade, just do not want the sun to deteriorate it and then have a dent in the dash. Time will tell.

Barely fits Highlander but decent for occasional use
I have a 2017 Toyota Highlander hybrid XLE, and needed something to hold my iphone (with otterbox) for occasional navigation but did not want suction or adhesive. This just barely fits on the top ledge of the dash, in a good place for line of sight without obstructing view. It falls off when I try to remove the phone but so far it has stayed secure while driving if I’m very gentle if touching the screen while in the mount. For the price I’m happy with it for the times I am going somewhere unfamiliar (about once a week) but it would drive me nuts if I needed to use it for every car ride.

Holds my huge phone, GREAT GPS visability, but blocks view a little
It works like it supposed to and fits my Nissan Rogue, and holds my huge Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (which is now too heavy for my old magnetic holders). It places your phone with awesome viability for when you need directions, the best of any holder out there (and I have tried them ALL). However, I find it a little in the way of my view of the road. Not super dangerously but a bit annoying. Even when my phone is not on it the clip is in my peripheral vision so I remove it unless I need directions.

NOT A GOOD FIT FOR HONDA CIVIC HATCHBACK DASH!!!!
The quality and style was great but unfortunately it did not fit accurately on my dash. Needless to say I was disappointed. So I ended up going with an alternative the SPIDA MOUNT 360 degree phone clip and now waiting to receive. Hopefully this one will work....Ultimately I was satisfied with my 1st choice and would have kept if it fit. Overall to me it was a 5 star all the way!!!!Hope this helped with anyone looking for this type item....

Works great.....for a while
I purchased this item, and was very happy with the performance. I drive a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, and my dashboard is a bit thicker. This was a tight and snug fit for about a month. Then, the bottom clip that went over the dash started to lose it's tightness, and the grip opened up to triple the original size, which caused it to fall off every time you turned your vehicle. The material is strong, and there are NO OTHER issues, except for the fact that the clip is now too loose, and will not fit tightly on the dashboard. I tried reshaping it, using rubber bands and other clamps, but to no avail. I think for someone who will use it for a trip, and immediately take it off, it can last longer, but for someone like me who drove from Philadelphia to Cleveland, and spent most of my time in areas I wasn't familiar with, this wasn't intended for such long-term use.

Might work on someone else's car
It's really easy to install in theory and it would probably be fine in a bigger car with the dash further away from the windshield than my car (2000 toyota echo) but in mine I couldn't open the holding part and place my phone while straight on the dash board. I had to mount it on the side and it went flying at every bump...

Works well on some cars
I bought two of them, is very easy to clip on your dashboard however on my Subaru outback it stays put, have to push it back occasionally so it will stay on because the rubber is not sticky enough, however on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005 every time I take a couple of bumps it falls off I had to use double-sided tape on the part that sits on top of the dashboard otherwise it falls off, Excel grade iron Will they make The River advice contact with the dashboard a little more sticky Sweet stay in place That's why I'm not giving in five Stars

2014 nissan altima fitment.
It sort of fits 2013 - 2017 nissan altima, but you gotta make sure you push it all the way in on the thinnest side of the dashboard right above the steering wheel.I noticed my car wasn't mentioned in the fitment description so I took a chance. It'll do the job, but it's not 100% flush.
