GRA‑D220R Mini Discone Antenna | 100–1600 MHz Receiver, 144/430/904/1200 MHz Transmit, 29.5" Stainless Portable Scanner Whip

Amazing with Icom IC-705 using the Wincamp RC-2 Antenna Support! This antenna is VERY well made and is exactly what I wanted for my IC-705 for VHF / UHF RX and TX as well as genreral listening on SW HF, AM Broadcast, FM Broadcast, and Air Band. The antenna transmits on VHF and UHF with no counterpoise rat tail wire needed. The SWR measures 1.0:1 to 1.3:1 across both the UHF and VHF bands and I got excellent signal reports on both repeaters and SSB 2m and 70cm. This is absolutely the soultion I have been looking for when I am out portable. I also have the Tripod GRA-ULT01 MK3 and HF antenna GRA-7350TC from this manufacturer and they are also outstanding!

Assembly was easy. Reception is great. Does not take up much space. Would recommend for scanner or ham radio.

Cannot assemble the antenna due to the included Allen key being much larger than the set screws.

Took a gamble on this, it is about half the cost. You can see slight machine marks, very minor. Went together very easy and all threads was good. I was careful when i tighten so not to strip, seemed good. The UHF mount fit good with no issues. Have not mounted up on pole yet, it is clamped to the top rail on a chain link fence. So far it is picking up good on my scanner, have not tried to transmit and SWR check yet. Will come back later and update. So far i feel i may have made a good decision and saved some bucks.

Good Discone Antenna D220R.. This is version 2 of this model. Excellent quality, solid not hollow with good hardware. Recommended for 144/440/900/1200MHz (100 to 12000) scanning or transmission. Great coverage. Rods come shrink wrapped, will be mounted outside on top of the house. Recommend as I was sceptical but could return it.. I will be keeping it as it's excellent.

Its a mini discone im still skeptical that it was worth the investment it does act like discone in the uhf frequencys and up but it deffenatly looks cool assymbled on a magnetic base works alright as a general antenna for your SDR In an apartment situation or moble but definitely go for a regular size discone if you have a place to install one

Worked no better than one of my dual band mag mounts for scanning. Not worth the money.

Antenna was junk and waste of money

6 nuts and 6 compression washers missing. Allen key provided doesn't fit the Allen screw. Overall, unsatisfactory shopping experience
