Product description states this is not compatible with jvc tapes, yet you say it is...... i have several jvc vhs-c tapes to convert to dvd. so ???

JVC branbded tapes will get jammed in the mechanism. They are fractionally larger.All other VHS-C tapes are OK

It needs the power to load your smaller tape into this, I hope this helped, it only uses 1 AA battery and it seems to work pretty good.
