Huey Fong Sambal Oelek Chili Paste 8 Oz

Incredibly versatile hot condiment to add to asian noodles, salad dressings, eggs, stirring into chili, soups - anywhere you need to add some kick. It doesn't take much so go easy at first. Not only hot, but full of flavor. I've mixed it into cream cheese, mayo and softened butter to add to vegetables and baked sweet and regular potatoes too.

I absolutely love this stuff. I was sad when there was a shortage of the chili garlic paste and didn’t know what to do so I looked at this stuff and low and behold my dishes taste almost exactly the same when I use this! I love it with any Chinese food and it adds heat and flavor with a tang, you don’t get the garlic but I’m not upset at all. I will take this any day!

I used to have a problem with receiving bottles with broken seals. Many times! However, the manufacturer must have fixed the problem because my last few orders the seals were fine. Always check the size of the bottles you are purchasing because I made the mistake of buying a bottle and it was a mini size. Wasn’t a good price for that size. I love this brand. I think it has the best flavor for chili 🌶️ paste. I’ll always buy it from reasonable priced sellers, not price gougers.

the best sambal in the market

I needed some Sambal Oelek for a crock-pot recipe to make a Korean barbecue dish, so I orded this product. It worked well and made a wonderful flavour similar to what one would expect to find at a Korean restaurant. It is very spicy and has a nice hot taste. A small ammount goes along way. There is no heavy smell in the food nor in the house with this chili paste. As the bottle has more than one needs to make a meal, we found many good uses for the chili paste including on eggs, with other stir fry meals and even to spice up tacos. Our bottle lasted a bit more than three months and being kept in the refrigerator the whole time it kept its flavour and spiciness. It does come in a plastic container, not glass

I like the chili paste and is a great addition to cold sesame peanut noodles. I especially like the smaller size since a jar lasts me a long time and the larger (16 oz size) isn't as good at the end as in the begining

I was worried as a regular Sriracha addict when I heard the fight in Irwindale, California between local residence and the Huy Fong Foods company, the makers of the wonderful hot sauce in their huge 650,000 square-feet building. In 2014 the Irwindale City Council voted to drop a public nuisance declaration and lawsuit - thank God. The company has a slogan which fits with my love of the sauce; "I put Sriracha on my Sriracha". Had I known about Huey Fong Sambal Oelek Chili Paste I would have switched my loyalty years ago. To me it has more flavor though it is hotter than the thinner Sriracha sauce. There is almost nothing I would not be tempted to use it for, starting with just about any boring food, of which there are too many to name. I am not sure I will ever buy Sriracha sauce and may find myself always using the paste instead. I have used it in soups, salad dressing, pasta dishes, omelet's, a little smear on a toasted cheese sandwich and just about anything else you can think of. I understand you can make your own chili paste but sometimes even an ardent cook can find a product that is as good or better than anything he could hope to do himself. This is one of those times.
