Hard and thick, but I like it.
- Hard, and thick, around 1" thick. - One serving got around 25% of the daily recommended intake of fiber. - Adding tea won't make it a lot softer. - Obviously, because of all the fiber, it'll be hard on your teeth. Word of advice: if you're eating it alone, break it into pieces. It'll be much easier to eat and less painful.

As hard as a rock
This is a very very hard bread, it is as hard as a stone. I don't think barley bread is ever like this. It's so expensive, yet, not enjoyable. A knife cannot go through this bread. I even tried soaking it in liquid, but it still didn't soften. I tried every suggestion on how to soften barley bread, but none worked. There is no direction on the package on how to soften the bread if it was made specially. I will not recommend.

Authentic product
It is the exact same rusk that we enjoyed so much in Crete! Are there any recipes available to use with it? It is a wonderful addition to a Mediterranean diet.

Very, very hard bread
Should’ve listened to what most customers said. This is very very hard bread. I soaked it and I guess I soaked it too long because it came out so soggy fell apart so now I know I just am able to dunk it. That’s the only way I could probably eat it. It’s way too hard for me to eat. Don’t think I’ll buy this again. It’s not for me.

Make it with feta cheese olives capers red onion
Great in making a Greek barley bread salad. Soak, soak soak. This way the rusk will soften and you can eat it.

A waste of money .
Bread appeared old . So hard even after soaking in hot soup for ten minutes could not chew it or break it . I tossed it . Save your money .

Know how to soften rusks as they were meant
These are delicious and are a perfect texture when softened by dipping in water for a couple of seconds. Let the rusk sit a few minutes to soften after dipping in water. I noticed several people made bad reviews because they thought the rusks were rock hard. They are meant to be dipped in water first. Thank you! 😊
