this is a very good book, it breaks down all the fine details ...
this is a very good book ,it breaks down all the fine details into simple context. it covers all aspects of TA from basic to complex I think anyone can benefit from this book from the advanced trader to the novice trader, this book has a good index section as a guide post for easy look up,this book is put together very well . Listen, I have been trading for many years, but even still I will use this book for brushing up on some key issues. it's very helpful I personally haven't read the book cover to cover, because I only use it need it to touch up on some key points, but sure it's best to read this book cover to cover for the beginners I say read it cover to cover,& learn the basics. Again this book is good for all levels from advanced to beginners it covers every aspect of TA. I must admit even I didn't know about some key points till I read this book. Again it's very helpful. you might find yourself thinking to yourself wow! I didn't know about this. try it ,buy it,get a feel of it, see how it grabs you, Once you learn the key points you can try paper trading or books on day trading in the series.

A Shortcut to Technical Analysis
When this book was recommended to me by someone I consider my mentor, Thomas Wood, I had completed two years and eight months of daily study. I studied, on average, five hours a day when I was working 12 hours a day on my regular work which was totally unrelated to the market! My passion for the market revolves around the currencies and five futures. The wisdom in this book astounds me. Not having this book created a lack of the tying together of the subjects in this book; I cannot tell you how much time I spent paper trading in the fear of the real thing. If I would have had this book in the beginning, I could have started having the second most fun thing in my life in one third the time! :-D A young 70 year old from Georgia seeking and finding a great past time for retirement!

Knowledgeable, convoluted, and at times arrogant - The hallmark of a professional trader!
Albeit convoluted, the book offers considerable knowledge in the writing style of which I'm currently writing this review. If you're interested in a read that's written at a sixth-grade level, then abstain from this book. However, if you're intrigued by a book written in cold, hard scientific technical-style, then you could fully appreciate the book.Barbara starts by teaching you the basics of trader psychology, then proceeds to give you a high-level overview of the multitude of indicators. Next, she discusses the different types of charts, and how each bar and pattern can be used as an indicator [charting].After the basics, she'll teach you about each major indicator by discussing each indicator of which it's composed or which it improves. At the end of the book, she leaves you with the crescendo of Ichimoku: my personal favorite indicator. Ichimoku puts together everything you learn in the book. (You'll want to watch the videos from Chaos Trader on YouTube to more easily and fully appreciate Ichimoku, as that section is difficult to understand.)After Ichimoku, she leaves you with the trinkets in the characteristic "Part of Tens" portion of the book. The Part of Tens is a summary of everything you learned.

To the point and true to the Dummies Series Philosophy.
Great stuff to know if you are interested in trading stocks (I’m more of a Day/Swing Trader). If you are a do it yourselfer I say YES to this book as I do most ‘Dummies Series’ books, it’s worth the few $$$ and invested time. Easy read and to the point, the way I prefer!

Information packed book.
I am incredibly surprised at how informational this book is. If you're getting into any sort of trading, this book is an vital tool for expanding your knowledge on technical analysis. Before delving into the pages, I had modest expectations on what I would learn being that this is a "For Dummies" book, but I could quickly surmise that the author has tons of practical trading experience, and gives valuable insight into technical analysis.

but otherwise great book if you know nothing about it
Arrived on time....little harder to follow than I was expecting, but maybe I am too far along with technical analysis and trying to start from the beginning is difficult to follow, but otherwise great book if you know nothing about it.

Great book on Technical Analysis
Technical Analysis For Dummies is an easy to read book about technical analysis. If you ever wonder if technical analysis work, you should read this book.

Not for "Dummies", good for the more advanced TA trader.
It's a good book for an experienced trader but a little too involved for the novice. For those less educated in technical analysis I would highly recommend Trend Trading For Dummies by Dr. Barry Burns and Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets by Stan Weinstein.Technical Analysis for Dummies by Barbara Burns is a great book for your shelf to use as a reference because it has a lot of information that would be of value to the more advanced. The book is certainly not recommended for "Dummies" - in my opinion!

Muy mal libro
No dice nada concreto, no profundiza nada en ningún indicador

Encyclopedia
I use this as an encyclopedia more than a course, but the sections are really well written. I liked this one over the candlestick charting for dummies.

A very good introduction
If you are completely new to technical analysis and starting out in the field, this book won't disappoint. It covers all the essential topics in a very lucid and clear manner, with lots of illustrations and examples. There is lots of very useful and sane advice regarding trading also. One suggestion is to straightaway jump to Chapter 6 after the Introduction and the 1st Chapter and then read all the way to the end till Chapter 17, before coming back for Chapters 2-5, which offer brilliant overviews and advice. Chapters 6-17 explain the main tenets one by one. This is how I got the most out of this book. For all budding technical analysts, this book is one you really want to have.

Great book for newbies (and experienced ones too)
This book offers information of nearly everything of the technical analysis field. It doesn't matter the kind of person you are, how your psychological profile is. You can find at least a handful of useful information, and that's reason enough for me to get this book.
