The first of 5...WOW! Party like it's 1999!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want to make a Spurs fan cry, buy them this DVD. It was an amazing time in San Antonio that summer....GO SPURS GO! I bought this video on VHS in 1999 (at HEB..lol). I had been wanting to watch it but I don't have a VCR anymore. When I saw this video again on DVD, it helped me recall all of those great moments. I will never forget that Championship run. I highly recommend this DVD to any Spurs fan. Now, let's cheer them on to number 6....GO SPURS GO!

Finally!
Thought I would never see this one on Blu-Ray! Had to keep holding onto my standard DVD release. Of course, not all NBA footage on this Blu-Ray is in 1080p. Not a lot of Blu-Ray equipment around in 1999, so most of the disc is in a much lower resolution .... Especially the very early footage of the team .... back in the days of the Iceman.

If you're a spurs fan this is a must see.
Must see for any spurs fan. David Robinson still tops in my book. Was watching when Sean Elliot hit the memorial day miracle, greatest shot in spurs history.

the first of many
I rated this 5 stars because this title was the beginning of one of the best franchises in sports. Many said they could not win a championship after this lock out season but they went on to win 4 more.

I love it for the simple fact that it chronicles the ...
This DVD is a must-have for Spurs fanatics. I love it for the simple fact that it chronicles the Spurs' first (and sweetest ... until 2014 came along) championship. Here's the scoop: - Starts with a brief historical background of team. - Includes a few Ice Man highlights (nice). - Shows the Spurs getting the #1 pick in the '87 draft, much to the chagrin (ha-ha) of Suns owner Jerry Colangelo. - Several highlights of the pre-1999 Robinson years. Great to be reminded of how amazing "five-O" was in his prime. He's everything Dwight Howard wishes he could be. - Shows a young Peter Holt pumped up to get Timmeh in the '97 draft. (I still remember where I was when that happened!!! My buddy and I were looking at TVs at Sears and we went NUTS!! ... people nearby thought we were insane, but history has shown that our reactions were justified.) - Then follows a too-short summary of Tim's first two seasons and the '99 western conference playoffs. - All the above lasts about a half hour, then the last half hour is all about the '99 Finals. - And you have to watch the credits at the end to see the infamous Pop dance and shout on the Riverwalk during the victory parade. Classic. (Of course, this year Pop one-upped himself with the "not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5" routine! Can't wait to see that on the 2014 championship DVD.) - Unlike the '03, '05 or '07 DVDs, there are no special features and no 4th quarters of series-clinching games. Just the hour-long program and that's it. - Video quality as you might expect is not very good. It wasn't remastered in HD. Most footage is 4:3 aspect ratio. The 16:9 footage appears to be 4:3 cropped. But the subject matter makes this forgivable. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 due to the lack of special features and the lack of remastered footage. Nevertheless, a must-have for Spurs fans. Enjoy!
