Works great
I use this in my 29 gallon tank with cichlids and it works fantastic

Strong flow
I bought the 450 gph. It's great for adapting to a filter or adding water movement to a large tank. I wouldn't even use it in a 50 gal aquarium for water flow. But it works great for my home made filter. Exactly what I was expecting.

Be weary if tank 75 gallons or less.
Very powerful. The model I got had the air nozzle off to the side. I have read reviews that people received a different model from what was shown and that may be the case for me as well. I'm not mad tho, the flow rate is absolutely brutal. I thought this would work for my 75 gallon heavily planted (sand) aquarium for co2 dispersion but it's just too much flow. I'm looking at options of ways to diffuse the flow but I don't think wrapping a sponge would help much unless it was half way seeded with bacteria. I will stick with the brand tho and go for one with around 200 gph. My white clouds absolutely loved the flow but my cardinals and rummy nose stayed at one side of the tank. It did not matter what location I put this powerhead it was just too strong for my 75. I would recommend this for a 75 Gallon aquarium with rainbows and no plants or a mbuna/africa cichlid aquarium.**Edit. Just want to note that my rummynose tetras have gotten comfortable with the flow. I'm still debating if this is the method I want to disperse my C02 but it's not bad as my initial impressions. I am still worried about my plants not liking the force of the flow but will experiment with diffusers so I can have this going on 24/7. I have resorted to plugging it in and off. Also want to note that my fish go absolutely crazy when I feed them and this powerhead is on in my 75 gallon aquarium. It really gives them a work out and more healthier due to the increased activity.

A whole bunch of blow...
I love it, I got my unit as an open box special but it was unused from what I saw of it. I have a 55 gallon tank and the bubbles make the fish very happy. It moves the water great and lets in plenty of air. Also since it moves so much water at once, its benefiting to my crystal clear water... I've read about people complaining about the noise. If your tank has the constant flow of running water (so peaceful) then the "hum" isn't noticeable. Without it, it's still a very low hum. If you're having trouble with the suction cups (I didn't) try cleaning them with water then test them on the outside of your tank before you submerge it.If you're curious, here's my freshwater set up..-This Powerhead-AquaClear 70 3 Stage Filter-UV Sterilizer ($30 on "the bay")-Aquatop Submersible Heater-LED Bubble WandIt's bubbles everywhere, I didn't have to do water changes before the Powerhead and I won't be doing it after. Overall it's a good buy!

Worked decent until it didn't
I normally do not write reviews but in this case I had the urge to. Purchased this pump in May of this year and about 3 weeks ago I noticed there was no more movement of water. The motor itself was working so I took it to see if it was fixable. It wasn't the impeller blades were no longer attached to the shaft so while the motor itself was spinning, the blades were just sort of floating free. Up until then it worked decently well for my diy filter.

Good Powerhead and Quiet
I bought this and compared it with the Super SUNSUN JVP-022 Aqua Power Head Pump, 158 GPH. Seems like its made from the same manufacturer. Both are rated similar but I think the AquaTop is a little more powerful for water flow. I attached this to a sponge filter in my 55 gallon tank supplementing a Cascade 1000 canister. Works great and water is clear. The powerhead pushes the water flow from one side of the 55 gallon to the center in a 48" tank, so pretty good in circulating water. On the other end I have the outlet from the Cascade. I think this powerhead is good for 30 - 75 gallon tanks depending on dimension of your tank and what other filtration you may have together.

A lot of power.
I was skeptical that it will even work when I opened the box to find out how small it is. Once I connected it it with UV , placed it in my tub patio pond I was really surprised how powerful it is. My little pond water was like a pea soup before I put UV with this power head n it. It took 4 days for those two to clear water completely. It took several tries to find the best placement in the pond since the current it pretty significant and my plants started to lean side-wise when I placed it on the wall of the pond. It turned out that the bottom placement was the best with the output nozzle turned 45 degrees. This is another great feature of this power head - the ability to change the angle of output stream. The only drawback is the lack of instruction, but it is very easy to figure it out.

Great powerhead for the price + help for heating the water a bit
Great and simple powerhead. The impeller shaft is the only moving part. It can be use for aquariums up to 50 gallons. my aquariums are about 30 gallons and this powerhead works wonders. I have attached it to a sponge filter and since then, my water is crystal clear and the fish are much more active. There is a little plastic tubing you can attach to the powerhead and the other end sticking out of the aquarium. This will add a lot of air to the outlet of the powerhead, thus providing a much increased aeration in the water. You to make sure the powerhead is always under water, as the water is cooling the powerhead. If the powerhead is allowed to be above the water, it will get hot and this might damage it.Talking about cooling the powerhead, the power head is only using 8 watts. This almost nothing, but it will help to rise the water temperature of the aquarium. This is beneficial for most tropical fish. All my aquariums are in my basement which is always cool, even during the hot summer days. I always have to keep the place heated. All my aquariums filters are air operated with a home made air pump that uses over 400 watts 24/7. I have 20 aquariums ranging from 10 to 50 gallons.I have noticed that the aquarium's water in the tank where the powerhead is, is about 5 degrees warmer than its neighbor. All that because the powerhead is warming the water just a little bit for its cooling. I am thinking about getting enough powerheads for all my aquariums. then I will not need to keep the basement heated that much, maybe just during winter. Also 20 powerhead at 8 watts each will consume about 160 watts total instead of the 400 watts of my current air pump. A lot of saving can thus be made.Without mentioning that the powerhead moves much more water than my air operated filters. Thus having cleaner water and happier fish in my aquariums. Please click thumbs up if this review was helpful to you.

Didn't work out for me.
It didn't end up being strong enough for what I needed. I designed an under-gravel jet system using PVC with drilled holes for my 20 gal-tall fish tank to deliver oxygenated water to the bottom and reduce the settling of waste-debris, but the current it produced just wasn't good enough to push through the PVC tubing. I tried redesigning my project and changing the configuration several times, but had no luck. The motor is extremely loud and if it's too far underwater it lost a lot of power. It just wasn't quiet enough for my indoor tank and not powerful enough to work. I love the feature where you can draw air through the output and create bubbles so it's really too bad it didn't work for me. I can't really fault this product for not doing the job I wanted since it was such a custom project, but I will fault it for the noise it produced and for losing strength by being deeper underwater.

Noisy, rattles
After 2 years of frustration with this power head it finally gave up.One day i noticed weird noise coming from it, and when i touched it, smoke started coming off.i immediately unplugged it and removed it from the tank to notice that the electric wire was somehow cut and the two wires came in contact with each other while submerged.Good thing it did not blow up my tank. From now on i'm only buying DC low voltage pumps.

Leaking Voltage! Air intake is sidways and this can not be changed. need titanium ground probe
If you want to zap your fish this pump is for you.Titanium ground probe is a must if you want to use this pumpBought two of them and they both leak AC voltage.Although the box and the manual shows (see picture) venturi air intake should be facing straight up like on the box picture, but for some reason it is sideways and there is no way to make it right way up. I don't know if they selling pumps with parts refused by manufacturing or what not.I actually asked a question about venturi facing up, prior to making a purchase and got an answer that it can be changed, but it can not.

Silencieux, bon prix, bonne puissance
