Feta is a fresh cheese whose curd is preserved in a salt brine, which gives it a characteristic flavor and a specific texture. Originally created in Romania, Feta is now best known as a Greek cheese. However, this staple is made all around the circumference of the Mediterranean, including in southern France. Valbreso Feta is made from sheep's milk that is left over from the production of Roquefort, the famous French blue cheese. While typically eaten as a table cheese around the Mediterranean, in the USA it is most often added to mixed salads, and best appreciated in the summer. Review: Delicious and long lasting - On a whim I ordered this in March 2023. Shipping was great, the tin arrived cool with the cold pack still partially frozen, and the Best Buy date was July 2023. I placed the not opened tin on the refrigerator back shelf and proceeded to ignore it. Finally with trepidation I opened the tin in August 2024 -- the cheese was perfect, firm and fresh tasting. I crumble the feta for salad topping use, but it's sufficiently firm to be sliced for other recipes. I'll order this again after the summer heat has passed. Yummy & sharp
Sheep's feta tends to be sharper & somewhat more tangy than goat's feta. Works well for pita.

Favorite feta cheese
This feta has a great soft creamy texture and taste and needs to be refrigerated . It arrived warm The cheap little ice pack was melted and warm. When the Can was opened the cheese was hard and had a sour taste . Seller needs to do better ! Won’t buy it again waste of money as it had to be thrown away.

Warm feta? I don’t think so.
This is my favorite feta . Great creamy texture and taste. However this arrived warm. The cheap little ice pack had melted long before it arrived. Do better.

It's delicious. Incredible.
I love this Feta. It inspires me to make spinach fritattas, fetalicious vegie pizza and much more. If only I could afford it a bit more often, for parties, special guests and my son who can't eat cheese from a cow. You folks deserve what I pay for this great product. But. Idea: for us devoted customers of meager means--how about a coupon once in a stretch of time? A great surprise?
