Bay Millโs Mushroom Brush gently cleans fresh mushrooms without the use of any chemicals or causing damage. High-quality bristles with dual textures gently removes dirt, wax, pesticides and debris to ensure produce is clean and safe for consumption. Using the brush to clean mushrooms eliminates the need to peel away and discard the skins to preserve vital nutrients found in the skins, reduce food waste, and save valuable food preparation time. All fresh produce should be cleaned well before being consumed, even organic produce. For the best vegetable wash, simply scrub produce with the brush under running water, moving it side-to-side for a softer touch and top-to-bottom for a firmer scrubbing. Once produce is clean, give the brush a quick rinse, shake off any excess water, and set aside to dry. Originally designed for surgical use, Bay Millsโ Vegetable Brushes were then specifically redesigned to include gentler bristles to clean delicate vegetables. Each vegetable scrubber features bristles of the appropriate firmness for its intended vegetable and are color matched for quick identification in among other cleaning tools. Great for scrubbing out carpet and fabric stains, cleaning nails, turn upside down to hold bar soap, and more. Made from food-grade polyethylene, theyโre durable and reusable. Top-rack dishwasher safe for a more thorough cleaning.

Great for dry brushing mushrooms.
This little brush is great for getting the dirt off of mushrooms so that you don't have to wash them and make them soggy. It makes a difference in the texture and cooking. The bristles are soft, but they still make little marks in a soft mushroom cap, but hardly noticeable. So far, no problem, and much better than other brushes I have used. When you don't have to wash the mushrooms it makes a huge difference in cooking them. The flavor and texture is much better. This is a great addition to your kitchen.

Excellent, gentle soft-bristled brush
I use this as my mushroom brush, and am extremely pleased with it. The bristles are soft enough to clean the surface of a mushroom cap without tearing through the fragile surfaces. If I used it for cleaning vegetables, I probably wouldn't use it to scrub celery or potatoes or something as tough as those hardy vegetables, because I would want to preserve the shape of the gentle bristles on this brush. Honestly, this reminds me of the gentle scalp brushes we used to use to use on the obstetric department, to shampoo newborns for their first time. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Best mushroom brush ever (Even though it's not on a stick)
Hey, Trader Joe. How come your mushrooms are so dirty lately?I've owned half a dozen mushroom brushes. And I've tried-out more. This is by far the best mushroom brush I've encountered over many years, i.e., best for scubbing mushrooms that are dampened with a brush--without getting the interior wet.If you've used mushroom brushes, you know it's more efficient to have one on a lever (a stick). The work is decidedly faster. Still, this brush is the best I've found. (Now if only I could find a decent fold-over omlette pan.) It looks as if it'll last for quite awhile. But just in case, I bought a back-up.Now about that pan??

A USEFUL BRUSH, BUT NOT VERSATILE
I like to collect wild, edible mushrooms but didn't have a good way to clean them. So I bought this in hopes that it would work better than just wiping them with a paper towel or whatever.Does it work? Well, it works very well on the white button mushrooms (agaricus) that are commonly sold in stores. For oyster mushrooms, you have to be really careful and brush with the gills or they get torn up. It's a little too soft for chanterelles. Morels are a challenge no matter what.Bottom line -- there is no single brush that will clean all mushrooms well.

Works
I might be unfair rating this product because I bought it to clean under my nails. I had a very similar item that surgeons use and it worked great after working in the garden. This not as well but it helps a lot. It's a quality product. I think it would work very well on mushrooms if I ate cooked with mushrooms.

Masterful Conquest of Friction
This is the best mushroom brush I've ever used. As improbable as this product looks, the precise amount of friction has been achieved by the maker, so that the brush removes dirt, etc. easily on the first pass without disturbing the surface of the mushroom, thus improving both the speed and quality of the operation.I was looking for an oversize mushroom brush (you know the typical tiny ones) and found this was my only choice, so I tried it. It is not only handy because it is larger and more comfortable in my hand, but it whisks specks off mushrooms instantly. Because this job is much quicker, I am much more inclined to incorporate mushrooms into my cooking than in the past.

Makes a great baby brush
I ordered two of these to use as a scalp brush for my 4 month old daughter. She has a flaky scalp and rubbing it with my fingers doesn't help, those baby brushes don't seem to be able to get through all of her hair to her scalp and combs make her skin so red it seems painful. This mushroom brush is the perfect thing for a baby brush. It holds up well enough to get through her hair to her scalp, but it's gentle enough that it doesn't make her all red and cry every time I comb her hair.
