Can bassinets be used for overnight sleeping?

Yes. And they have mesh sides for breathability at the top. My twins slept in the bassinets for several months.

Is there an option to purchase back-up inserts? Or another product that works with the inserts in case they get dirty in the middle of the night and n

I don't know if there are inserts but i just tuck a receiving blanket in there and it seemsto work fine and it stays smooth until I get it cleaned.

Can this be used as a pack n play once the twins have outgrown the bassinets?

You could... but it’s the same size as any standard pack n play so it would be tight for twins. I ended up going with a different brand for a larger pack n play. Used this just for the bassenet and now toy storage

Safe for babies to sleep in since material is soft

Yes. They should be sleeping on their backs anyway. If too warm, remove blanket/swaddler.
