Does this mattress pad leave the mattress still firm enough for an infant, in regard to SIDS risk? Or is it too thick/soft for an infant?

You'd barely register the difference with/without - This pad is simply quilted and waterproof, not a cushion.' - And the waterproofing works too.

How thick is this pad?

I would describe the mattress pad as "perfect." It isn't thick or thin; it has a quilted top and the sheets fit beautifully over it. We are the Grandparents so we don't use the crib constantly but when "our baby" comes over, his Mama swears he likes it better than his crib at home. So much so that we actually gave her and our son-in-law the extra pad that came in the pack and they love it, too. I initially looked at all the expensive eco-friendly sorts of mattress pads. Ultimately, I went with this one which turned out to be an excellent and economical choice. Our daughter is now expecting twins (oh my!) and I will buy them again.

Is this Stain resistant?
