I replaced the builder-grade ball catches of my bathroom doors: original plates had been painted over and balls were rusty. These look nice, work well, and it was a very easy job. I should have done it sooner!

It did the job I needed it to do

I purchased these to turn a regular lockable door from my living area to the hallway into just a push to close door. It was very simple to drill the top of the door and install these ball catch hardware. I feel they are very durable, slip resistant, and improved the door openability to make better sense to me. I also have these type ball catch doors on all my closets, and am going to order this brand to replace the existing Ball Catch Hardware. The stainless steel is very attractive and the feel of the Hardware is more heavy duty than the existing. A great buy for sure.

This worked exactly as it was designed, but the instructions for installing it were not the greatest. When attaching the strikeplate, it is important to make room for the three "bumps" on the underside of the plate (the two screw holes and the opening within which would sit the ball bearing). I used drill bits and drilled shallow holes for this purpose and it worked very well...but NOTHING was stated about this in the instruction sheet. It did, however, work exactly as I needed it to. I would even say it was a good value. I will likely buy and install more of these.

Super easy installation, very smooth function and quiet. No constant adjusting and no getting stuck like the one that came with the door! Quality material, don’t think I’ll need to replace anytime soon.

Fantastic! It does just what needed. The old one wasn't adjustable and would allow a minor breeze to blow the door open. This fixed that problem perfectly.

I installed these today. I drilled a 3/4 inch hole straight down in the top of the door. about 2/3 inch deep. I didn't carve out where the plates attach, but it still looks pretty good. Close and open the door a few times it leaves a mark on the door jam so you know where to install the strike plate. After installing the ball and spring in the door I drilled the hole in the door jam using the 3/4 inch bit and wiggled it to the left and right to get it ablong. All this might sound messy, but it gets covered by the strike plate. So far, they are working great. And they are easily adjustable up and down by turning the ball and spring housing. Great for keeping double doors closed but not locked.

These ball catches are good quality. The ball mechanism is adjustable to allow you to adjust the amount of pressure from the ball. I used a set at the top of my closet doors, and plan on putting a set on a closet door vertically on the side at the height of the door knob. I only have a dummy door knob on one side of the door so there is no latch. On thing to be careful of is that the top of your door needs enough wood to recess the catch hardware into it. Some hollow core doors may not have enough, especially if you have to trim your door a bit shorter.

Great product! Looked at hardware stores, not available for my closet design. This was easy to install & works great.

It did it's work. Although it's latch is not very hard but it's quite good.
