I play tennis a couple times a week and I have rotator cuff issues so I could really use some ice on my shoulder after playing. But I rarely ever ice because it's a hassle. I don't like icing because I typically just use fill up a zip-loc bag with ice, but it's not the greatest way to ice. First off, you deal with a fair bit of condensation so the area you are trying to ice gets wet - not a huge deal but an annoyance especially if you don't want to get water leaking on your clothes or upholstery. Second, the ice against the plastic is so cold that it becomes uncomfortable. So you wrap the bag with a towel to deal with the first two issues, but then it's just not cold enough. Well, my wife ordered one of these bags about a few weeks back and I thought why the heck haven't I tried these before? They are awesome!!! The fabric is thin enough that the area you are trying to ice gets cold but the texture of the fabric is such that it minimizes condensation. When I say minimizes condensation, it's almost non-existent. I live in Southern California where the air is usually pretty dry, but during the weeks that I first used it we were in the midst of an El Nino summer and it was actually quite humid so I'm confident that you will have minimal condensation no matter where you live. I have since ordered two more of these bags. I haven't tried other bags, but I have tried the gels packs that you put in the freezer and I would say that this is my favorite way to ice my shoulder. I fill the bag about 2/3 to 3/4 full of ice then put about a 1/4 cup of water in. I try to get as much of the air out of the bag then screw the lid on. (The screw top creates a nice seal and does not leak.) The bag conforms to the shape of my shoulder nicely and gets it very cold without feeling like it is burning my skin from being too cold. When I'm done, I simply pour the water out and then give it a few good shakes to get as much water out as possible. Due to the folds that are used to increase the capacity of the bag without introducing seams it is difficult to get all of the water out. I then try to puff up the bag then allow it to air dry without the lid to mitigate any nasty smells that might result from the moisture. I highly recommend this bag to anybody looking for a convenient and low-cost solution to making icing easy.

This is the One to BUY!! I’m a retired RN/APRN with over 36 years in nursing. I’m now a patient with several auto-immune disorders and chronic pain. I understand how heat and ice help in pain management from “both sides of the bed”. I’ve purchased over 5 different ice bags over the past 10 years and THIS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS PASTED THE ENDURANCE TEST. It’s great at providing the cold needed without leaking through…NO wetness on the outside of the bag. It’s not going to last forever, but you will get several years of good work. I HIGHLY recommend !!!

I ordered 2 of these ice bags about 2 months ago. They worked so well, I ordered a third. I had to return the third one because it leaked when the ice melted. A quick inspection revealed a 1/4 inch slice through the bottom of the bag. The bag appeared to be new and unused when I received it, so I assume it was a manufacturing defect. The other bags continue to function very well, and the defective bag is the only reason for dropping one star from the rating. - The bag has an opening, and easy to fill. I use an Oxo scoop. - It is manufactured from a material that feels comfortable against bare skin. We do wrap the bag in a kitchen towel when it's first filled with ice as it's too cold to be comfortable without a thin barrier. - The material does not sweat from condensation as the ice melts. - The ice usually melts slowly over a period of about 3 hours. When the ice is mostly melted, the bag remains cold and can be used against bare skin to extend its useful time.

Finally, one of this things that doesn't actually leak, my lunchbox was soaking wet all the time, I use it for keeping lunch cold and for my knee pain. Don't spend money in cheap Chinese ones, for one it has worked as expected.

This was perfect for my jaw after a recent tooth extraction. I tried other ice packs, but all were hard and uncomfortable. They were just hard blocks of ice. They were so cold I had to wrap them in a towel, and they were terrible. This remained soft and pliable. I was able to mold it to my face. It stayed cold for hours, and it didn't leak after the ice melted. I suffer from migraines, and this will be perfect to take when I travel. It's small and lightweight and will fit in my suitcase. Just fill up with ice from the ice machine for relief.

Okay I don't usually use tube socks anymore but they do work in a pinch. I suffer from frequent migraines and neckpains so I go to bed or to a chair with a refreezable icepack or a ziplock of ice very frequently. The refreezable icepacks are alright, they are never "too cold", they don't leak, but they also dont stay cold long, <1hr. The ziplock and towel/sock works but it can be easy to make it "too cold", and all too frequently even double bagged - they'll leak. This thing is really the perfect solution. It is lined to be water tight, has a water tight gasket on the top, and NEVER leaks. I usually add maybe a dozen ice cubes, and a little (~8oz) cool -> warm water. Depends on how long I want it to last and how cool I want it to be. Generally if I'm using it for my head I don't want it ice cold, so the warm water helps. Water in it also helps conform to my heads shape and "wrap" around it instead of just hard cubes that are touching here and there. I don't even fill it up halfway for headaches to minimize the weight/pressure on the head, and I make sure I squeeze all air out before sealing it up. I can keep one of these cold for at least a couple hours that way. If you're using it for other injuries like a knee, and you just fill it with straight ice - it'll stay cold for probably 4+hrs. The only thing I might want is a bit larger one just for my head. It does have a tendency to slip off my forehead usually within a couple hours (I am an extremely still back sleeper), I think a bit large of one that would go off the sides of the head would not only cover more spots but also provide more stability.

These are excellent. They don't leak like so many reviews of other products said. The bag is made of a soft material that can go directly on the skin comfortably. The hole is big enough to get the ice in and the bag holds alot of ice. A huge help to my friend who was injured severely.

I don't think I have seen many Australians using an ice bag. But I got this one to try and it is amazing. Make sure you leave it to dry after use and it will last for ages.

I am extremely impressed with this product. Once filled with ice it cools properly and does not leak at all. The bag is neither wet nor is there any condensation. It just allows the cooling ice to do its work. The cap is a screw top and also does not leak at all. Worth every penny.
