Rusted in 5 weeks, pole broke from connector plate
When this base first arrived, it looked like made of good quality material and is fairly heavy. However, the pole separated from its base plate within 5 weeks of use. The pole is welded into a base plate and the welding is very shabby, just 4 tiny contacts to hold a heavy umbrella. After I broke I noticed inside that it had quite a bit of rust. Not worth wasting money and ofcourse, it broke a week after the return window of 4 weeks was over. Stay away from this and related products from the seller.

Great find !
I looked at a LOT of umbrella bases both on line and several retail outlets. This one kept coming out at the top and when it arrived I almost hurt myshoulder trying to pat myself on the back . Price reasonable ... weightexcellent as I live on a small island just west of southwest Florida. Beingon an island there is almost always a breeze and of course strong winds...so far hasn't moved a bit. If I want to move it I just lean the umbrella overand roll it on the bottom ridge of the stand.

No More Umbrella Tilt
A little lighter than my last 3 bases, but still the best one of the group. There is an adjustable collar at the top and reversible bottom collar inside the tube. The combination of the two insures the your umbrella stays up straight.

Affordable and attractive, but some concerns about durability
Update: After having leaving it outside for awhile, I found that the tube will fill up with water, even when placed under a table. To prevent water accumulation and associated rusting, drill a hole or two in the base next to the center mounting hole to give the water a way to drain out. (The base material is rubbery and easy to drill through.Original: So far, so good. Looks decent and it's affordable. But the construction seems a tad flimsy where the steel tube connects to the resin base, and some of the other reviews showing the tube cracking where it meets the base back up this concern. So I’d only use this base when combined with a table to provide added support to the umbrella, especially if there’s any significant wind.Another complaint is more about some inaccurate information in the product description. The product description says the height is 15.7 inches, which is wrong. It's actually 13 inches. It also says the acceptable umbrella pole diameter range is 1.49 -1.89 inches, but that's wrong too. In addition to coming with 38mm (1.49") and 48mm (1.89") diameter adapters, it also comes with a smaller 35mm (1.38 inch) diameter adapter.I've uploaded some photos showing each of these dimensions.

Great Summer and the Stand Was Terrific
After buying another brand- stand that came cracked in half when delivered, and a second that was 4 feet wide, (not highlighted in the description0 this stand was a welcome relief. It holds my patio umbrella solidly, no moving anywhere. It looks "vintage". It's a great buy and a terrific umbrella stand. These are heavy and have to be packed well to ship. This one was. Highly recommended!

Sturdy 26-lb base, good finish. Well designed.
It's a base - what could be hard about 'design' you say?If you read the 1-star reviews of most bases, you'll see that the base itself has a threaded hole for the tube to screw into, which is prone to all sorts of problems. If the hole strips, you're hosed. If the hole is drilled crooked, you're hosed. If the bolt snaps, you're hosed. This one has a separate bolt that attaches through the base to the tube, into a steel (not aluminum) nut - a very sturdy and serviceable arrangement. This thing went together in 1 minute. It took longer to open the box. I've added the instruction sheet to show how it's configured.
