A good value and no setup was needed.
To me this was a very good purchase because the guitar was set up very nicely right out of the box no extra expense to get it adjusted which is a plus. The action was nice and low at least for my taste. I restrung this with silk and steel strings to dgbe tuning and I'm very pleased with the tone and easy playability of the guitar. It appeared the guitar was drop shipped from Saga music in California and it was shipped inside of a very nice padded gig bag which helps to protect it during shipping. There is one strap button on the bottom only. It arrived in the factory box which shows what is inside. I had considered some cheaper options for tenors but blueridge has very good reviews across all there guitars and this seems to be a quality built instrument at a reasonable price $456 from Amazon and is built in China. This tenor is a smaller guitar about the size of my Yamaha student 3/4 scale classical. Very easy to transition from ukulele to this!Hope this helps your decision.

Fantastic guitar
I was a bass player long ago and just an amateur at that. I am used to 4 strings and always just wanted to play a little guitar around the fire etc. Just couldn't catch on to six strings. I started playing cigar box 3 strings and was having a ball with them. I like playing blues and bluesy rock. I bought this tenor being just 1 more string I thought I could learn it. I probably use this guitar differently then most would.I dropped some heavier strings on it and tuned it to open G.My tuning is G D G B. It sounds fantastic and I was quickly playing everything I learned on cigar box guitar but with much richer sound and more options for chords. I haven't put it down and my fingers hurt from playing it to death. It's a very well made instrument and well worth what they get for it. I looked at the Ibanez version and it isn't even close to this one for fit finish and playability. Can't think of anything even knit picky wrong with it. It was even set up nice right out of the box.Well done.

Great instrument
I usually do not wright reviews. I have played a tenor banjo for years. Always wanted a Martin tenor guitar but simply could not talk myself into sending that kind of money. Finally decided to try the Blueridge Tenor guitar and spend what was required to get one. To my pleasant surprise it far surpasses my expectation. Easy to play with a good feel and a great sound. I am not a guitar grue but if a Martin sounds better and plays easier than this I doubt if I could tell. The build quality is great, beautiful finish and detail. Very pleased with the purchase and look forward to many hours of fun playing this super tenor guitar. If something should happen to this one I would buy another without hesitation.

Nice, but a little pricey
This is a fine instrument, nicely made. It sounds good to my non-professional ears. I gave it four stars because 1) I think it's a little overpriced and 2) the first one I bought could not be tuned (the second one was fine). I own a $300 Fender acoustic-electric bass and a $300 Kala baritone ukulele, both purchased within the last year, and the fit, finish, and sound quality are as good as with the Blueridge.

I love this thing.
I play baritone ukulele and I was looking to step up to a tenor guitar. After months of shopping, I decided ti go with the Blue Ridge. I have zero regrets. Considering the price, I figured it would be a factory second but I can't find the slightest blemish. The sound is awesome and I love the feel of it. The string width is smaller than the baritone ukes I have but is no problem getting used to. The string spacing will feel similar to a six string. The supplied strings can be tuned to CGDA or DGBE. I chose the latter because it is the same as baritone uke. Additionally, it is the same as the bottom 4 strings of a 6 string. All in all, the quality and value of this guitar is awesome and this price point is less than the used BR-40Ts I've seen. It's a no Brainer, buy this guitar.

Amazing Tenor
What a wonderful guitar. I played a concert ukulele for a year and then decided to move to both baritone uke and tenor guitar since both use the same chords. This is so much fun to play and the fit and finish is flawless ... I mean flawless! Set up was excellent. It came with "extra" light gauge strings and I had a problem with the B string being out of tune. In tune when I played an open string but about 2 cents sharp when I fretted it. I replaced it with a D'Addario EJ16 string (light gauge)... no more intonation issues - solved. I also replaced the E string (from the EJ16 set) to balance the higher end strings and I really enjoy the more mellow top end. Home from work, sit in my Lazy Boy with this guitar in hand and my troubles melt away.

Really nice tenor guitar.
Great sounding, beautifully built. Playable right out the box, but really nice after some minor tweaking. The padded gig bag is really nice too - similar to the soft cases that come with the mid-level Martins. The guitar has a rich, booming sound (surprising for such a small guitar). And Amazon had it for about $200 less than other stores, so that was a bonus. Overall I am very pleased with this guitar and would highly recommend it to any level player.
