Inspired by Old Holland Oil Colors we push our paints to the limits. You will find that our colors are very heavily pigmented. The swatch shown here is the pure color brushed over white watercolor paper. This shows the intense color strength and the texture that can be achieved with encaustic. We used one of our hot brush attachments to apply the paint.Our wax paints are sold in 1 fluid ounce disks which measure approximately 2 inch diameter and are 1/2 inch thick. If you buy 16 fl ounces you will receive 16 disks which are quicker to melt and much easier for dispensing in the classroom or workshops. We offer a range of sizes from 1 fluid ounce to 16 fluid ounce. We recommend heating our wax paints between 150 and 175 degrees F to prevent burning and to offer optimum working characteristics.
