Good, solid, simple can crusher
This thing is just perfect. Screw it to the wall, and crush cans. It's well-designed, easy to use, tough and durable. No plastic parts, no sharp edges, no dumb "ergonomic" rubber handles. Just a nice, solid, simple device that works fine and will probably last forever.

Very Strong & Sturdy - Space Saver - Time Saver - RECOMMEND!
The reviews drew my attention to this item. They were correct! The wife just loves it and so do I. We can crush our cans as we use them and not wait until we have a garbage can full. We installed this inside my garage - just outside the kitchen door and attached it to the garage wall - and placed a 45 gallon can underneath to catch the smashed cans.It is built well - no plastic crap here. We've used this crusher for a few months now and expect to have years of use from it.Only one con: Only crushes 12 oz cans. It should be designed to crush 16 oz cans too. The positives outweigh the one con mentioned. Highly recommend - Fast Shipping - Good PackagingUPDATE: 12/6/2014We've used this Can Crusher for over a year now. Not a day goes by where we don't use it. It has crushed 100's of cans and is functioning great! It appears as if it is going to last for many years to come. We hope so. Can't tell you the time and effort which has been saved because we can crush each can as we go, instead of crushing a whole barrel full when it overflows. Because of this crusher, we get four times the amount in our barrel versus not being crushed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - GREAT GIFT IDEA TOO!UPDATED: 1/30/2016We've had this Can Crusher for over 2 1/2 Years. It works as well as the day we first used it. Still going strong!

Very tough device. Crushes 12 ounce cans very well.
I bought this can crusher nearly a year ago as an experiment. I have been planning on taking a years worth of crushed cans to a recycling facility to see how much money I can get for them. This is something my 90 year-old grandfather has done for many, many years. To him, it is a bit of a poor mans stock market. He checks the aluminum prices and brings in all of his cans when the prices are highest. I am a soda fiend that almost exclusively drinks from cans. Add in the beer cans and I think I am in for a decent haul when I go to the recycling center next month. I am expecting between $20-40. If I'm handed over $20 back I will be happy as I have paid for this device. I have 3 large trash bags packed with cans.As far as the device itself goes. To be honest, I am not sure why I purchased this crusher over the "Pacific Precision Metals THE CRUSHER Aluminum Can Compactor." They both have great reviews, but this crusher only crushes standard 12 ounce cans. I have tried to force through some 16 ounce cans (and Miller Lite 16oz pipe cans) by bending them, but I can tell this puts a HUGE amount of more stress on the device and has caused some very slight bending of the metal. I expect that if I were to do this consistently that It would significant shorten the life of this product. Still, this is a very tough device and if you are predominantly concerned with crushing standard 12 ounce cans, It will surely last a very long time.I will report back my enormous profit when i take my cans to the recycling center.UPDATE: After a years worth of can collection, I took my cans to my local recycling center. I was happy to find that it was only a few minutes from my house. My cans weighed in at 56lbs at $0.47 /LB for a total of $26.32. From what I have seen $0.47 a pound is not the highest of prices you can get for your cans, but the facility was close to me and I am happy. I made almost $30 I would not have otherwise and helped the environment in the process.

Sturdy!
This thing is a beast! It won't take a can larger that a standard side or beer can and the paint flecks off with each use, but it's still pretty amazing.

over 2 years on and it's still working great! Best can crusher I have ever had!
Its never failed, always works and I've had a number of different crushers. If this ever breaks, I'll just get another one. Bought this Feb 2021 and it's still going strong with zero issues.

Works well, installation is a chore.
This works well. It crushes 12-ounce capacity aluminum cans fairly easily to height of less than an inch. It won't work on larger cans and, in fact, the pop-top of 12-ounce cans must be fairly flat when a can is inserted in the crushing chamber.Installation took some time and effort. The back of the device goes against the wall, or whatever you mount it on. The back is a metal plate with six holes predrilled in it, three across the top and three across the bottom of the metal plate. I was afraid that if I used only the middle holes the device might eventually wobble from side-to-side while the studs upon which it would be mounted aren't wide enough for screws through four of the predrilled holes, two above and two below. This is the long way of saying I think the Crusher should be mounted on a board attached to the wall so it straddles a pair of the wall studs. If you've already got such a board in the right place, no problem. If not, you've got to acquire the appropriate piece of lumber, attach it to the wall and then attach the Crusher to it. A mounting board attached in a garage will usually have to be attached through a couple sheets of drywall (i.e., the firewall)--you'll want to keep that in mind if you have to buy screws.Ithought it curious that the picture on Amazon showed a metalic device, while what they send is painted white. Parts of the Crusher slide against each other as it operates and this movement has scraped off a little of the paint. The instructions suggest youlubricatethe moving parts--then operation of the Crusher removes not only the lubricant, but the paint beneath it.

Excellent
I believe all can crushers NEED to be built like this! It is very solid and I love how the handle can stay upright. The only wish I have is that it was just a little taller to fit energy drink cans. It smashes very tight and compact. Need to order another!
