Yale P-77-ENB-PB-60 - Traditional Nightlatch - 60mm - Electro Nickel Brass Finish - Standard Security

Nice lock. Good quality. Works great. My only dislike is I am not able to get a duplicate key made. After misplacing 1 of the 2 keys that come with the lock, I tried everywhere to get another key made with no success.

I was beginning to believe that I would never find a replacement for the surface mount Yale locks that my Father-in-Law installed 50 years ago in the circa 1896 house in which we now live. These locks are drop-in/"plug-and-play" models. Even the screw holes line up! I was also able to re-use the original surface-mount strike. So glad I found these. They are not inexpensive, but they are perfect.

Bolts just slightly too long for our 1 5/8 inch door and a stainless color. Used llock washers to get the slightly too long bolts to tighten. Then,, needed an odd cross tool for the screws. A Phillips driver will not work. I did not Notch out the lock side or the gap would be to wide and exposed from the outside. It seated solidly without notching the door. I did notch the hasp side and I still feel that the hasp should be larger with more screws for security. Used a hole saw attachment for drill to install the cylander. Good lock so far.

The lock works great! The problem is not being able to have duplicate keys made in my location. No home improvement stores have the Yale blank to make this key. Because sometimes you need more than just 2 keys! This may not be a problem US wide, but in my locale, there is nothing in my area.

I bought this to replace my old lock that had a spring broke. I was a perfect fit.

This lock doesn't have the same quality that Yale locks had years ago. First, This lock was not made in England as were our 150 Year Old house's locks were. I could not find a manufacturer's County of origin on any component or label that came with this lock. It looks like an inferior copy of the one I was replacing. One example is that instead of a brass finish, the components of this lock were painted with a wheat colored paint. Once installed I had two unusual problems. The first issue was and trying to get it to latch correctly. Despite it being a direct replacement of the 20+ year old lock, the latching components wouldn't line up. I ended up carving out an area in the 100 year old door to make it work. The other issue I had with this lock was getting duplicate keys made.. Apparently the type of key that this uses is not normally kept in stock at home centers and locksmiths. When we went to get copies of the key made the local locksmiths told us they would have to special order the blanks to make copies. I ended up using the old lock's lock barrel. I suppose if you are looking for a lock that looks vintage for a new door, this lock should do the trick for you. If you want a direct replacement for one that was manufactured in England 20 or more years ago, it is not a direct replacement.

The lock works well and was easy to install. I had it put on a door to my workshop.

Needed a replacement front door lock, this has worked excellent. One year later of use and it's standing up to the test of time.

This is a replacement for a similar style of lock, on a very old door. Works great and gives me the retro look that I want.

The product is all good but I cannot replicate the keys. All locksmiths tell me that this is a new key and they cannot copy it.
