Review: Good Stuff - This is our third order of this tahini, it is excellent quality and saves money over the smaller jars from the grocery. We love the flavor and the quality. It is packed well and we've never had a jar leak in shipment, so that's good. The oil will need to be stirred back into the solids, as with any tahini that has had time to separate. This smells and tastes fresh, we love it.
Review: Excellent product, great price ... er, intriguing packaging. :-) - I just opened the first jar of this 2-pack and while the packaging presented a bit of a challenge, the tahini itself tastes wonderful -- very fresh, creamy, and just the consistency I expected. Here's a bit more about the packaging. I didn't think I would like the soft plastic container, but it didn't take me long to decide it's better than a glass or other hard-sided jar. Just enough give to make it easier for me to grip the jar while I was removing the lid. (Not sure what would happen if the jar was dropped on a hard surface, but I'm not going there. Conduct our own testing! :-)) The peel strip to secure the outer (gold) lid was easy to open, but the plastic film covering the INNER rim seemed to want to shred. I found myself wishing for some type of pull-off tab. I eventually used the point of a knife to cut and remove it. A minor annoyance only. When I finished my (delicious!) taste testing, I snapped the lid tight and turned the jar upside down to store as I usually do. Because the lid style is new (to me). I have it on a counter so I can keep an eye on it. After an hour at room temp, no leaks so far. (And that easy snap-off lid is going to get me in trouble, I expect -- the easier to open, the easier to sneak another taste. And maybe just one more. :-)) Will definitely order again!

**Q: I am confused by one reviewer's comment that this is a powder that must be mixed.  I've only ever had a product like peanut butter ...  which is it?**
A: I just bought this last week and it is not a powder.  It is a thick paste - consistency similar to peanut butter.

**Q: Does this product have a bitter aftertaste? made some using a store bought brand and it tasted bitter.**
A: I use this in hummus and it is absolutely delicious. I have bought tahini from the store and it is no where near as good as this product.

**Q: what type of plastic is the jar made of?**
A: PET 1 is BPA-FREE... PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate. PET (also known as PETE) is designated by a recyclable "1." Most often found in single-serve plastic bottles, such as those used for water or soft drinks, PET is a safe, recyclable material that contains no BPA. **Q: Is it one or two pounds?  The header says 2 jars, description says 1 lb in each jar but shipping weight says 1 lb.**
A: You get 2 16oz plastic jars for a total of 2 lbs.  Before writing review I weighed the jar I hadn't opened yet and it was just over a lb.  Seller's shipping weight description is incorrect.

This is our third order of this tahini, it is excellent quality and saves money over the smaller jars from the grocery. We love the flavor and the quality. It is packed well and we've never had a jar leak in shipment, so that's good. The oil will need to be stirred back into the solids, as with any tahini that has had time to separate. This smells and tastes fresh, we love it.

I just opened the first jar of this 2-pack and while the packaging presented a bit of a challenge, the tahini itself tastes wonderful -- very fresh, creamy, and just the consistency I expected. Here's a bit more about the packaging. I didn't think I would like the soft plastic container, but it didn't take me long to decide it's better than a glass or other hard-sided jar. Should be 10 stars. I’ve been using all different brands of tahini. This one is my favorite one. I may have found another one before but this one is really good. No stirring and it tastes like tahini should.
