Product works well, price is super high
As far as the product goes, this product works well in my chlorinator and I don't think it's overpriced, because I used to pay $5.00 a bottle when I would locally pick it up. It only comes out to approximately $3.25 per bottle on here, so again I don't think that's really a bad price to pay. BUT, I do think that the shipping costs are outrageous!! It's over $20.00 in shipping fees!! So you're really paying $8.25 per bottle in reality. It's good for people who would rather have it delivered to their home rather than picking it up locally. But still $8.25 a bottle is rather high if you ask me, even if it is coming directly to your home. I had purchased this in the winter when I had already gone to Walmart, Loews, Home Depot and all of the local pool/spa places and none of them sold shock in the winter, so this was really my only option at that time and I was desperate. If you can stock up on this during the summer months, do it locally, as it will save you a bunch of money. Use this ONLY as an alternative like I had to in the winter months and if you are desperate.

HTH Liquid Chlorine
It did not clear up my pool and the chlorine content was on 10% which is less than what is available at my local pool store at about the same price. It also takes 6-10 days to get it. I will just keep buying it from the local store that carries it.

Horrible price
Edit: I changed the review from 1 to 4 stars because the product itself is fine, the price is just too high vs anyone's local stores. To compare one jug of liquid chlorine/bleach to another, use the following formula:[price] / ([# units] * [oz per unit] * [percent chlorine])In this case: $12.23 / (1 * 128 * .10) = $0.95 per oz of chlorine...EDIT: I did not see 4 gallons so I will do this again and add the cost of shipping:$16.53 + $15.55 / (4 * 128 * .10) = $0.62 per oz of chlorine. In comparison, just about any grocery store will sell you 121oz 8.25% jug for $3.00, or:$3.00 * 1.085 (tax) / (1 * 121 * .0825) = $0.309 per oz of chlorine! If you watch for sales, you can get it for $0.25 or less. When it comes to 121oz 8.25% jugs, you don't even need to use the formula, just divide the price of one jug by 10 and you get the cost per oz of chlorine :).Since this product is three times higher than the national average grocery store price, it is a rip-off!I do highly recommend bleach as for your daily chlorination to avoid getting too high CYA (50ppm max traditional, 80-100ppm max for salt water) which requires you to have a very high level of Free Chlorine to maintain enough active chlorine, or a partial drain and refill to lower it. If you stay between 30-40, you'll be able to use tablets in an auto-feeder when taking a week vacation. Trichlor/Dichlor tablets add CYA, and calcium hypo adds calcium hardness which can cause scaling. On another note, you should never have to shock your pool if you never let your pool fall below the minimum level based on your CYA level. Use the calculator at poolcalculator (dot) com to find out what that level is after entering your current CYA level. I have found the "TroubleFreePool dot com" website very helpful, just be sure to have a good FAS-DPD test kit before requesting help.
