Uniquely captivating
This book was a unique read for me. I felt like I was right in the middle of the investigation, part of the team racing the clock to solve the case. Not only was the plot captivating, but the characters as well. I couldn't turn pages fast enough to see what would happen next. The author successfully kept me guessing all the way to the ending that caught me by surprise.

Good Story
At first I thought the story might include gory parts. But the suspense was enough to live up to the title. Great suspects. Kaely was definitely an unusual main character. Other characters were likable or hateful, whatever they needed to be. I liked Ron, and of course Noah. Good plot and story.

New Suspense Series by Nancy Mehl!
FBI Behavorial Analyst Kaely Quinn (AKA Jessica Oliphant) has been exposed as the daughter of a serial killer, Ed Oliphant, thanks to a pesky reporter. This new public revelation of her identity challenges her new partner, Special Agent Noah Hunter, in ways neither of them dreamed of. Now a NEW serial killer is on the loose and has Kaely in his crosshairs.I enjoy Nancy Mehl's suspense, and it's obvious that she does her homework on the law enforcement end. She does an excellent job of portraying the cat and mouse game of a serial killer. The pace of the novel is excellent, which gives the reader time to digest what just happened before going on to the next incident. What I do find annoying are all of the abbreviations for different areas of upper law inforcement.Kaely herself is a very likable character and is very intelligent, although her methods are rather unusual. The other agents on her team make up a very cohesive group that is well matched to each person's expertise. I love that there is a strong faith thread which becomes stronger towards the end. With her troubled past, Kaely's faith is going to be a very important factor to getting her through this new threat.I purchased an Amazon Kindle copy of this book and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. fantstic start to new series!
What a fantastic, gripping and mysterious tale that comes from the pen of Nancy Mehl! Before I continue let me share with you that book two of the series titled, Firestorm, comes out August 2019 and I can hardly wait!Kaely Quinn is a behavioral analyst for the FBI. The way she does this will really grab your attention! What is even more gripping is the character’s history and how her fellow FBI agents treat her. Kaely lives only for justice to be served, but someone is stalking her. The whole time I was reading the book I kept wondering who was after her and what part of her memory wouldn’t let her remember whatever it is that the stalker thinks she knows. When Kaely is assigned to work with another FBI agent, she about has a fit but must decide to either deal with the new assignment or resign. The man assigned to her doesn’t want her for a partner either but again has no choice. The case they are working together is proving extremely dangerous and the subject is always one step ahead of the agents.I was captured by the story from the first page until the very end! It’s suspense, thrills and danger with mystery in the background. I kept trying to figure it out, but the author does an excellent job of throwing in some curves that made me rethink my conclusions a couple of times. So, if you like mystery with a possible long shot at romance, here is your next book to enjoy!

Fantastic!!!
This was the first book I’ve read in 2023 and it is going to be hard to beat this year! This book is fantastic!!! Nancy Mehl wrote a brilliant story that is filled with suspense, thrills, and intrigue but is very clever in her delivery. She kept me guessing because she had this story so well written. I even liked the hint of the main character having a mental illness. I’ve already ordered book two!!!

I Really Enjoyed This Book!
Kaely was an intriguing character, and I was completely fascinated with her job as an FBI Profiler. I personally can “sense things” about other people that end up being true (that no one else can see), so I related to her gift a lot. Also to her inability to explain it to anyone or feel like she can trust anyone. The plot was intriguing with the deadly puzzle, and I was constantly suspecting different people all the time. It was truly perplexing! Sometimes I got so frustrated because I thought it was someone she was meeting up with but the team wasn’t protecting her! But in the end, I never did get it all right. That pushed me to keep reading and reading and reading!!It was especially satisfying that Kaely wasn’t “perfect.” She didn’t figure the mystery out, either, plus she has some major flaws. She’s human with an exceptional gift. And I loved that she didn’t have a predictable ending with either of the men in her life. I didn’t roll my eyes once while reading this story! (Amazing)I also appreciated that she was highly logical, but her heart wouldn’t let her shut everyone out...not even God. She truly needed God to get her alive through this. Her honesty in admitting that He was healing her from the deep wounds of her childhood was genuine and relatable. I love characters with a lot of depth, and Kaely was definitely wonderful. Many of the other characters were great, too. I truly enjoyed this book!

Clean read
A well written thriller. Appreciated the clean read - had none of the usual bad language, sex or graphic violence - didn't detract from the story.Wouldn't mind reading further in the series.

A Thrilling Read!
Mind Games is so different from what I usually read, it’s a crime thriller with a little bit of psychological thriller all mixed together with zero romance. Can you believe that I read a book with no romance in it?! Though to be fair I didn’t know that before reading it lol. Mind Games hooked me right from the prologue, it just grabbed my attention with both hands and there was no way I was not finishing this book! It was like reading an episode of Criminal Minds, so fascinating to watch all the different people analyzing all the info to try figure out who the killer was. And I didn’t figure it out until the characters did which just showed how well written the mystery was! Kaely was amazing yet super quirky and I love Noah already. I can’t wait to read more of them in the next book. The investigation had such a thrilling conclusion! Mind Games was fascinating and thrilling read! But it ended with too many unanswered questions because it’s a three part series. MUST. READ. NEXT. BOOK!!!
