I had under-the-cabinet lighting installed in my kitchen as part of a renovation done over a decade ago. I love under-the-cabinet lighting. Try it, you'll like it. The light fixtures used 20W Xenon bulbs with a G8 base. The light temperature is good (I would guess 2700K) and they have been reliable. Only one of 26 bulbs has died since the initial installation and they have been used (in dim mode - half power) probably 4 to 6 hours a day on average. But even in dim mode, they get HOT. I figure 260 watts total, spread around the kitchen walls. The heat wasn't really a problem, but it was a problem at full power. Which is why the lights were used in dim mode, when I would have preferred the brightness of full power. I have gone to LED's pretty much everywhere else in the house, so I decided to look for LED replacement bulbs. I found these TAIYALOO LED bulbs here on Amazon. I bought an initial pack of 10 to try them out. I have ordered two additional packs to complete the changeover. To my eyes, the color temperature of these bulbs is slightly hotter (whiter) than the Xenon bulbs, especially with the Xenon bulbs at half power. The brightness of both bulb types is about the same on full power. The LED bulbs do have a faint 60Hz flicker in dim mode, but I intend to use bright mode anyway. My light fixtures switch to dim mode by putting a diode in series with the bulbs. This means that the bulbs draw power only during the positive half cycle of the 60Hz AC. You don't notice this with the Xenon bulbs because of the temperature "intertia" of the bulb filaments. But you do notice it with the LED bulbs, at least if you are looking for it. I don't find it irritating, but I'm sure some people might. In any case, I am now getting full brightness from my under-the-counter lighting, while using less than a third of the power I was using with the Xenon bulbs in dim mode. And nothing gets hot. Win win as far as I am concerned. I can't speak to longevity. I'll come back in a year or two to tell you how many (if any) of these LED bulbs have failed.

I considered not writing a review -- with over 800 already out here does there really need to be another. I am going ahead because I am so impressed with these LED bulbs just couldn't resist putting in my two cents worth! I have under cabinet lighting in 4 areas of my kitchen - three of which are definitely "work areas" so good lighting is critical for me. The old halogen bulbs provided adequate lighting but produced a LOT OF HEAT. So much that in summer months here in North Carolina I felt they were defeating the purpose of my AC, yes they would product that much heat!! I had gotten to the point I did not use that lighting at all, but just my overhead spots (which are all LED by the way) and did prep work only on my island. That was OK at first but now my hubby is retired and we are preparing meals together and I am also teaching my granddaughter how to cook - so we need more prep space. So began my hunt for LED lighting. Found these, read many of the reviews and decided to purchase 1 package and see what I thought. Well, I was blown away. Love the lighting so much better than the halogen. LED bulbs produce a nice, white light where halogens had a yellowish cast. Picture 1 showing the coffee pot is the LED and 2nd pic counter only is the halogen. Hope you can see the difference as it really is SO MUCH nicer/brighter and eliminates that ugly yellowish cast. And best of all, THEY PRODUCE NO HEAT!! I ordered more to replace all of my bulbs. Have been using them on a daily basis (multiple times during the day) and do not worry about heat or energy costs. Cannot speak about longevity as I have not had that that long. I will note that while they are dimmable I am not using that feature. My under cabinet lighting does not have dimmer switches but rather a rocker switch (low/high I guess you would say) on each fixture. When on "low" the lights do flicker slightly and when on "high" they function perfectly. Since I do not use them as night lights and the cost on LED is low, I am happy keeping them on the high setting. Just putting this out there for anyone who has the same kind of fixture as mine. Have included pics of my fixtures and switch. Am so happy I did this and wish I had done it sooner! If you are on the fence about replacing yours, jump off and get some of these you will not be disappointed. Regards and happy cooking (or whatever) ;-0

*****UPDATE***** Their customer service saw my negative review and contacted me advising they did not receive my 2 emails and they wanted to make it right. They asked questions about my situation and gave ideas of how I might be able to adjust these bulbs to possibly make them work. Once they came to a conclusion they would not work, they sent me out a different set of LEDs as replacement...free of charge. I received them the other day and they fit my puck lights like a glove. Haven't seen them at night so will report back on the warmth. After doing a little research I have come to find that LED lights require LED compatible switches. As a "do it yourself-er" I did not know this and thought that LEDs were plug & play, and since my current switch was only a couple years old I thought it would work fine. That is not the case. So the flashing and the bulbs not turning off (from leakage current) are most likely due to the incompatibility of the switch and not a problem with the LEDs themselves. Am working on replacing the switch and again will report back. ***HINT*** The puck lights will only flash and leak if ALL the bulbs in the chain are LEDs. As a work around for my situation, in my chain of 6 puck lights I installed 5 of them with LEDs and left a halogen bulb in the sixth. While the glow from the halogen is a little different there is no flickering and no leakage whatsoever. This will work just fine until I get my new LED compatible dimmer! In review...after researching and learning a lot about LEDs I have come to find that Taiyaloo's product is pretty solid. It's unfortunate they did not see my earlier emails as their customer service is pretty awesome and they would have never received my bad review if they had responded originally. No worries...they are making up for it now and are earning their stellar reputation. The one knock I will give them is suggesting that these LEDs are "Ideal for under counter kitchen lighting, under cabinet lighting and puck light, etc." Many other reviewers of these LEDs also complained these were too big for their puck lights. If they instead steered puck light users to the replacement bulbs they sent me (link above), the reviews on these would be a lot higher. *****OLD REVIEW*** So I purchased these LEDs for puck lights that we have in our kitchen. I was worried if they would work or not but still purchased them because of the great reviews on the lights in the equally great reviews on the customer service for this company. When I receive the lights I had many issues. First off, like others have commented the lights are not warm enough, and secondly once the LEDs were installed I could not put the covers back on the puck lights. Figured…No problem. With the great reviews on their customer service will make it right. Nope! Emailed the company twice and both emails got bounced back as undeliverable. Unfortunately I did not notice the second bounce back until after the return window closed so I got stuck with them. Since I now owned them I figured I might as well use them. There are two sets of puck lights in my kitchen (one set of in cabinet lights and one set of under cabinet lights) run with a single pole double dimmer and switch. Since these LEDs did not match the warmth of my current lights, I decided to use the LEDs for my under counter lights and left the other bulbs in the in counter lights. Got them installed and besides not being warm enough and not being able to fit the covers back on, they lit up and worked. Unfortunately they wouldn’t stop working. When I turned the switch off the LEDs with them too it’s very lowest setting but not turn off. To make things worse when I turned the incabinet lights on with these lights being in their off position, they would start to flicker. These LEDs are absolutely worthless to me and I am very disappointed in this purchase and with this company. I warn all potential buyers to think twice about purchasing these since this company’s customer service is Now nonexistent which negates a lot of the earlier reviews. I am hoping someone in the company sees this and makes it right, but I’m not holding my breath. Will update this review if they do.

Like most others said, replaced Xenon halogen under cab bulbs with these. My fixtures have the half power and full power switch like many people described. They flicker on half power as reported. It doesn't matter. I leave them on full and they are great. Color temperature is just right. Not too sterile, not too yellow. I wired in Lutron Maestro motion sensing switches so they come on when someone walks into the kitchen and shut off 15 min after detecting motion. It was a good upgrade.

This will be the 3rd time I've purchased these bulbs. They are easy to install, produce minimal heat and put out a nice light. I have about 40 of these installed under cabinets in the kitchen and my office. The 3 star rating is due to the fact that these bulbs don't last long. The last time I ordered them, maybe 18 months ago, about 1/2 have gone out or blink randomly. I am buying them again as they are an ok value for the money. I'd gladly pay more for a light that didn't have to keep being replaced. For what it's worth, we do turn on these lights daily and they can stay on for extended periods of time.

We've been using these for the past 4 years in our kitchen under cabinet light fixtures. These put out at least as much (if not more) light than the halogens they replaced, and do it while using a tiny fraction of the power. Additionally (and even more importantly for us), the heat emissions from these super-efficient LED bulbs are negligible to the point of being effectively unnoticeable. The previous halogen bulbs emitted an absurd amount of heat, making the kitchen extremely unpleasant to be in whenever the under cabinet lights were in use. This was especially horrible to contend with during the summer months. Switching to these LED bulbs eliminated the entire issue, instantly making the kitchen pleasant to use with the under cabinet lights on all year round. I cannot state in words just how much of a relief it was to finally be able to turn on the counter lights to see what I was working on without having to subject myself to the sweltering wave of heat from those accursed halogen bulbs. While I am super satisfied with these bulbs, there are still two significant (but largely minor) downsides that I've noticed with these bulbs. The first significant downside is their size, as these LED bulbs are rather considerably larger in size than the halogen bulbs that they replaced. With our existing fixtures, these LED bulbs were only just barely able to fit into them with the glass lens covers left off. But our existing fixtures were only designed for halogen bulbs, and were so small that even the halogen bulbs that they were designed to use had so little space that it was difficult to get the lens covers on with bulbs installed. (To be honest, when I originally ordered these bulbs, I was half-convinced that I wouldn't be able to get them to fit at all, and was rather surprised and delighted to discover that I was flat-out wrong about that.) Note that the glass lens covers are no longer necessary from a safety standpoint with LEDs, so there is no real issue with leaving them off that outside of the aesthetic impact. In our case, the aesthetic impact from this was quite minor, as all of our fixtures were located deep under the kitchen cabinets, and therefore the exposed LED bulbs and the lack of lens covers on the fixture is not really easily noticeable. One thing to be extra-cautious of with the fixture covers off is inadvertent physical impact. If you're lucky it'll just require reseating the bulb, but if you're unlucky it can damage the bulb or even the fixture. One of our under-cabinet fixtures is a bit poorly located and sees semi-frequent physical impacts, which is a little annoying to deal with, but still far from a dealbreaker. The other significant downside is their longevity. We started using these bulbs in 2019, a little under 4 full years ago. We have 5 fixtures that take these bulbs. Over the course of the entire time span using these bulbs, we have seen 14 bulbs fail, and have installed a total of 19 bulbs to date. Based on that, it'd seem the actual average usable service life of these bulbs is no more than 16–18 months. This is pretty poor for LEDs, although not all that drastically below what we've seen in some of our higher-utilization fixtures with iffier cooling situations and lower-end LED bulbs. However, given that these bulbs are seeing fairly high utilization (albeit not quite as high), that they are in at least as bad if not worse cooling situations due to fixture design/locations, and that their design requirements in order to be able to fit in existing fixtures has unavoidably resulted in a package that is exceptionally ill-suited from a thermal management standpoint, I am honestly surprised they last as long as they do. So while I'm not thrilled about the longevity, I do understand that it's probably all I can realistically expect under these specific circumstances. The price is also low enough to take much of the sting out of the relatively short lifespan. And finally, even after taking the cost of replacements into account, I am *still* saving money on using these over halogen bulbs. All in all, I'd give these 4.5 stars, and will be placing yet another order for more of these once more right after I submit this review :)

We have older (20+ yrs) two setting undercounter fixtures and these do flicker on the lower brightness setting. I was guessing they might. Not a big deal for us as we've never had the fixtures on low for very long. The color of the light from these bulbs is so close to the halogen bulbs that you really can't tell which bulb is in the fixture. I did need to trim the bulb cover to fit our fixtures but it is a soft, clear, silicone and easily done, with instructions on doing it in the package. A card in the included with the bulbs provides an email if you have a flickering issue. I did email them and got a pretty quick reply, nice touch. One complaint, the email reply mentioned a different bulb that should not have the flicker problem with our fixtures, B09WQDGWHV. These other bulbs are about twice the price but I probably would have spent the extra $ if I had know about them before ordering these. In our case these bulbs work fine and we'll stick with them. If you've got ancient fixtures you might consider the alternate bulbs. Overall, these bulbs should last a ton longer than halogen bulbs, use less power, run cooler, AND they cost the same or less than halogen bulbs.

Just amazing!!! Well worth the emails back and forth because after a couple of trips to Home Depot, got the right dimmer. Had to switch my Maestro dimmers as they did not work with these bulbs. I found the Lutron CTCL-153PDH a bit more elegant than Lutron SCL-153-PH and after trying it out worked fine. At the end, I went with the Lutron DIVA DVCL-153PR-WH a bit more sophisticated and lest busy and it works great. Also need to do laundry room that has 4 bulbs and I am short just 1 bulb as the kitchen needed 7 bulbs. Definitely ordering another pack of ten from you guys to make sure I get the same ones. Keep the rest for spares or try selling them locally. I've been looking for years to upgrade under cabinet Bazz halogen fixture with LED, but not easy if you try to keep direct wiring installation. And expensive. The bulbs are a bit fatty for my application but squeezed in there just fine with a little bit of persuasion without trimming anything. I guess a lot of reviewers don't bother trying out new dimmer switches. No flickering, great color (a bit whiter than halogen but it's actually a bit better), nothing stays on, dims up and down fine. You wouldn't know we switched our bulbs. Great purchase. Thanks

I acquired these lights some time ago to install under my kitchen cabinets. The previous bulbs generated a lot of heat, which caused discoloration in the wood of the lower cabinets. In contrast, these new bulbs remain cool to the touch and provide an aesthetically pleasing illumination. I highly recommend them for anyone seeking effective and safe lighting solutions for their kitchen cabinets.

I use these for lighting under my kitchen cabinets. They work very well, and shine bright. I have had a couple die out over the years but at the rate I use them, it’s pretty reasonable for a light bulb! Would recommend for similar uses.

Lights arrived in light packaging, but not to worry, the lights are not glass! The LEDs are actually encased in a silicon or rubber material, they’re actually squishy. They feel like good quality. I installed them without issue. The only concern I would have is that they are thicker than my previous lights. However, they still fit inside my pucks without issue, but consider your own light fixtures. I could foresee maybe instances where the rounded base of these LEDs might not fit some fixtures that were designed for thinner G8 bulbs. See photos.
